How much is your wedding costing you?

That's a good idea.  I think they will have 3 people though, so I will have to look into it.  I thought they had to be part of your group to have no fee, as in, 3 nights?  Is that not true?

Package at resort is $3k but each guest over 20 is more for dinner/cocktail hr and we estimate around 30 guests Things added on such as DJ plus the insane taxes will probably be another $2k Air and hotel will be about $3200 - $3500 Not sure on O.O.T. bag costs yet, but probably a few hundred dollars. I also think we will book the airport transfers for our guests. Overall I assume we will land around 10k, maybe a bit more.

Yes that's what I mean- we booked the photographer as a guest at our wedding. He didn't actually stay at the hotel, but paying for him as a guest was cheaper than paying their astronomical outside vendor fee- but our guy worked alone. Not only do they charge the outside vendor fee but they also want you to pay for a guest pass. This was the only thing I really did not like about them. They need to lower that rate because its really not a fair thing to do to brides who have their hearts set on particular vendors- especially when the quality of their vendors are not as a high as the quality you expect.

Our budget is 15K so far we are sticking to it and coming under budget with some of our must haves.  The number one budget buster is definitely our photography but that was a very important aspect of the wedding to us so we splurged.  I hope we can stick to our budget in the next year.  worried2.gif

Well it looks like my budget is going to be around 15k...

This is the break down of our expenses so far... Some things are estimates (so hopefully we can lower our budget in that way :) )

Hotel Stay for 7 nights  for both in a Jr Suite Ocean Front is $2506

Our flights are about (for both) $ 1000

Photographer/ Videographer will be $4000

My fiance's grandmother's expenses $1300

Minister Fee $340

Dinner (estimate 50 guests) $500

Per person fee (estimate 50 guests) $525

Disco after dinner $650

Invitations/STD/Thank You cards etc. $208

Marriage licence $50

Passport (new last name) $140

Estimate for both our wedding bands $2000

Total so far is about = 13,200

That is without including my wedding dress which will be my parent'd wedding gift, my fiance's outfit (no idea what that will cost), the cake topper, the hair nails and make up, and any small details or decorations I want to use.

I love photographs and it is extremely important for me to have beautiful pictures and a great video to relive this moment for the rest of our lives which is why we are going to splurge in that aspect of our wedding.

I hope that whatever else we decide to do does not go over $2,000. If it does then I am going to have to look into cutting down some expenses...

60K for a destination wedding? Are you paying for everyone transportation and accommodations? undecided.gif

I am paying a little more than that for a photographer in Mexico...plus I have to pay an additional $1000 for an outside vendor fee.  I guess it depends on what is important to you.  I would take a look at area photographers as well for that price.  They give you slideshows for online as well.

the outside vendor fee at Paradisus is $1000??? whoa!! I think it's $350 at Secrets + a day pass of $80

i think these fees are so ridiculous

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
