How much is your wedding costing you?

Is the $2700 for an AI resort for your guests? Where are you having it?

For our destination wedding (including airfare/accomodations etc), plus the AHR we are spending a little under $20,000. We thought it would be cheaper to do the DW but now that we are paying for everything I don't think we are saving much. It's ok though, I'm still overly-excited woot.gif

Our original budget was $12K, but if you ask my Fi he would say it was $6K; he had unrealistic expectations of what things would cost. Example, he thought he would be able to find his wedding band for $300-$500, which he did, but he hated all of them  and now weâ€re going custom. And it wasnâ€t until we started getting quotes that he understood why I had such a large allocation for photography. Anyway, our final budget will be somewhere between $13K - $14K which includes our accommodations (10 nights), airfare, wedding rings, attire (including alterations, shoes, accessories), photography, wedding package for +/- 25 guests at an AI, and $1K towards miscellaneous expenses (décor, invites, OOT?, upgrades, etc.).  For items that we have yet to purchase, we have taken high estimates and weâ€re confident that we wonâ€t exceed $14K. Cost for our guest will be +/- $1,600 pp for 7 nights.

Haha so we initially had a budget of $5000 and I thought that was high. We are now at $9000. But we are six and a half months away. I have yet to start doing some of the other little details so I don't know if it will be higher than that. My co-worker is currently on her DW and she said it cost her $3,500 total. I so thought that we would spend around that amount. She stuck with the free wedding package. We are going with the second highest one. And I want to add some little touches here and there. But over all we just do not have $20k for a wedding. We are buying a house this year as well so it's a lot of money at one time out of only our pockets. But I'm happy. I know over all we are still spending way less that would we would in the states. And we won't have anything half as beautiful as our DW in NC.

We budgeted $27k for our wedding. That includes our 6 nite stay, the highest package for our ceremony & reception for about 70 guests, photography & videography, attire, gifts, OOT bags, invitations, decor, our flights, etc. I'm actually hoping that we dont have the 70 people coming as that's taking a big chunk but we'll see. Most of our guests are staying for 3 nights which will cost them $870 per couple, AI (not including air).

Probably the #1 question we get asked! "How much will my DW cost?" The answer really varies depending on where you go, how many guest you have and what you'd like out of your destination wedding. We've put together full weddings for as low as $800, and up to $300,000 but the real answer is we work with the budget you'd like to stick to! If you tell your wedding planner that you'd like to spend $10,000, we'll provide you options that will fall in that range. The most common budget we work with these days is between $10,000-$20,000 but it all depends on you! and of course falling under budget is always good too :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
