Going to PV in 2 weeks - any suggestions?

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I will be going to PV in 2 weeks to check out potential wedding venues, hotels for our guests, caterer, hair/makeup, etc. If any brides to be have any great leads or recommendations, please send them my way.

I am just hoping to make this trip as effective and efficient as possible.I will be sure to post a full report upon my return.

Thanks in advance elefant.gif

Have you hooked up with anyone to show you the villas? I would call Jennifer at Casa Bay Villas. I'm getting married at Playa Fiesta, so of course I would recommend going there as well to meet Lindsay and Adam. :) If you want to venture a bit north, Sayulita is a wonderful town to check out as well! I'm not sure what you have in mind, but there are certainly many wonderful directions you can go in!

The only recommendation I can make is please take me with you!!!! LOL. I need a nice beach vacation!

No, have fun and don't stress out too much. Make a list of things you want to accomplish while down there and have a list of questions ready for every place. That way you will be organized and can be the most efficient.

Hi - I am new to this forum and am planning to have my wedding in PV in Nov '09....curious to see what you found in terms of venues and wedding coordinators. I'm planning on paying a visit before the end of the year to check out a few places in person myself so any tips on what to checkout and what not to bother with will help out a bunch. Thanks and I can't wait to read about your scouting trip!

Hi Girls! Sorry this is so late.

My PV visit was super short lived, but did get some great info! We stayed at Fiesta American. Great location with a private beach which has a protected cove. Great views from rooms and very affordable. Close to the airport. It is a $5.00 (US) taxi ride (one way), so we rented a car for $20/day.

Decided on having wedding ceremony at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Met with priest and HE IS ENGLISH SPEAKING!!!

Other than that, I am flying out the rest of my vendors. We are still negotiating and in the process of securing a ceremony site. SO many choices.

As far as food: We ate at PiPi's: GREAT guacamole and margaritas! Barrio-Sur: FANTASTIC american breakfast, and GREAT ambiance!

We walked around Zona Romantic, its a nice area with many little hotspots. We found some upper scale martini bars which we will probably take our guests. Found some clubs by the malecon - JapaNice, Zoo, Mandala, Sama

That's all for now....hopefully its helpful

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
