Any October 2009 Brides???

Recommended Posts

Rachael,

I love your dress and the designer. I am looking at the site and getting ispirations!! I did make an appt for Friday at Alfred Angelo but I think that may be pointless because I wasn't drawn to any dresses on the site. I am just going to get ideas. I think I may have an ANJOLIQUE gown though!!

I LOVE BEST DESTINATION WEDDING!!!!!

Thanks!! Keep your appointment and just have fun trying on as many as you can...I went to 5 stores and tried on probably 75 dresses before I found "the one", and you WILL know when you try the right one on!! They always look so different on the rack and in pictures so just keep an open mind and have fun!! Good Luck!!

Hey CACHET,

I would go ahead and keep your appt and just try on as many dresses as you can. You can always figure out what kind of styles you like and then order the dress a few months later. And if you find one you really like... get the measurements for a size smaller as motivation.

I ended up finding my dress (and ordering it) when I was in Texas for my high school reunion in July. I had a few appts in Austin and then anytime we drove by a bridal store we would pop in to see what they had. I of course found a dress I loved in all of the stores ; ) But at the end it came down to two very similar styles with very different price tags. I ordered the less expensive one because I knew I could get it altered to look more like the more expensive one. And it was also hard to justify spending $1,750 more on the more expensive dress when they were so similar.

Sorry this was so long...

At least go try some on, and if you find the one you love but are afraid to order a certain size because you might lose weight, wait a few months before ordering it (or as long as you can). Some designers take longer to order than others so at least if you know what dress you want, you know how long it will take to order. Mine is a Mikaella and they said it would take about 4 months to come in (quicker than I thought!)

Here's a pic of me in the dress with my mom:

Ok, I went out Friday to try dresses on. I tried about 15 dresses on and narrowed it down to two. I had my mom take pictures of every dress I tried on. Can you believe she deleted all the pics except for the two I liked. She didn't even get the full dress in the pics. The dresses I like were part of a trunk sale so my daughters and I went back out Sunday and tried the dresses back on and took good pictures.

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married Oct 8,2009. So far I have bought my dress, made our wedding website, booked our location (Riu Palace, Los Cabos) for ceremony & reception, and picked my colours (fuchsia & turquoise). Right now I am in the middle of creating my invitations & narrowing down the photographers. What's the next step?

Thanks!

Nice dress! Did you get your bridesmaids dresses yet? How in the world did you get so many people booked already? When did you send out the STDs?
We sent out our STD's in July via email. We really wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible so they would have time to save.

Haven't found the bridesmaid dresses yet, and I might wait until closer to spring when all the spring/summer stuff comes out again.

Looks like I'm JUST going to miss you! We're staying at the Riu Palace too but we arrive on Oct 19 09.

I would say your next steps are browsing through centerpieces and trying on wedding gowns!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
