Any October 2009 Brides???

Recommended Posts

Question1: what do you think I should do for hair? Up or down?

Question2: what type of jewelry do you think will go with the dress? I'm thinking pearls... My mom mentioned she'll want to give me a present of a pearl set :) Thinking multiple strings of tiny pearls woven together... clueless about earings though. I guess that will depend whether my hair will be up or down.

My FI is insisting I grow it... the hair...not the pearls :)

Hey October Brides!

I was in Playa del Carmen at the beginning of October and it rained 2 out of the 5 days we were there. One of the two days it pretty much rained the whole day, but it cleared up around 5 (just in time for a wedding; ). Talking to my planner she said that it usually only rains off and on in October.

I hope this helps!

Mona

PS... Heather, I'm impressed by how much you have done!

Other than sending out my save the dates, I feel like there isn't anything else for me to do right now! I was planning on waiting until January or February to send out invitations. I want to include travel info but we won't know that until end of Nov/Dec. I've been making a music playlist for the reception when I find myself feeling like I need to get something done!

Things I still need to do:

invitations

book travel

dress alterations

grooms/ groomsman attire

DJ?

OOT bags

rings

Is there something major that I'm forgetting?? The only other thing I might consider is ordering artificial flowers.

I think hair up really shows off the neckline and the back of the dress. You have really nice shoulders so I think it would look really pretty on you, especially if you are going to wear pearls!

TCRAM, Are you sure you can't book a date yet? I think you can, you just can't find out airfares yet.

We have booked our wedding date at the resort, booked a TA to help with travel arrangements, made a website, bought my dress, and started to design our invitations. That's really it! I've been in contact with the photographer we are hoping to book but haven't actually booked yet.

Our next plan of action is STDs and invitations. I don't know if we should send STDs now and then send more travel information with the invitations, or if we should send travel info with the STDs.

smf47,
My save the dates are like announcements. I am inviting them to the wedding and giving out all the travel information. I think it is important for them to get that as soon as possible. I am only sending out invitations to those that are actually coming. I want the message in the bottles and they are too expensive to send to everyone that's not coming too. Do you think that's alright?

Heather and Rachel,

Can we see pictures of the dress? I'm getting frustrated because I don't know if I should begin to look for my dress now or wait a little. I don't even know what style I want. I do want to lose about 20 pounds for my wedding. What should I do?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
