Hi ladies.... let me clear this up, DO NOT DRINK IT! lol What you do is grab 1/2 a handful of coffee grinds and then pour some lotion of top of that and mix it... or you can also just mix it in a small bowl, just enough to rub it on the areas.. Scrub away for about 2 minutes then into the shower... Do just enough for a one time cause you want to make sure you keep it fresh with the grinds.thewave.gif

Ladies, I saw Oprah today & thought of this thread. Today Dr.Oz was on & he was talking about beauty. Anyway, they got to the topic of cellulite. He explained what it is & how you get it. I DO NOT want to be a killjoy but figured it was nice to be informed and based on that I decided to post this. Now if you're using something or doing something & you feel that its working then by all means, continue to do what you do. But medically, this is what he said:

He said that THERE IS NOTHING THAT YOU CAN DO FOR IT. YOU CAN NOT GET RID OF IT AND PILLS & CREAMS DON'T WORK.huh02.gifwhat.gifsmile27.gifcrybaby2.gif

I was sooo not expecting him to say that & found it depressing. Then I thought about all of the things that are out there on the market for cellulite & realized that it sucks that so many products are labeled to "cure" when it can't be cured.

Here's the link from Oprah.com:

Dr. Oz's Beauty Book

"If there's one thing women want a magic pill for, it's cellulite. Dr. Oz is here with some bad news. "You can't cure it. There's nothing you can do about it," he says.

Cellulite is actually a collection of fat cells next to arteries that get larger when they take in extra nutrients, which increase as you age. "As those molecules of fat begin to accumulate in the individual fat cells, those cells become nice and big and plump," Dr. Oz says. As the cells grow, they suck more blood supply toward them, which helps them to keep growing. "They blow up like individual balloons.""

Yeah, thats the time that I caught it too.

I really didn't want to post what he said but I thought that it wasn't right how the cosmetics industry has us thinking that all these creams work.

It was also the first time that I heard anyone give a "medical" explanation of cellulite. I don't know why I never thought to actually look it up myself. Cuz based on what he said I can understand why creams wouldn't work.

Anyway, I think you should keep up anything that you're doing especially if it makes a difference.

Hi Ladies! So my Mom saw the Oprah yesterday and was telling me the same stuff. The above mentioned coffee rub works, it's just a temporary solution though. I know alot of the vacations I have been on the spa's have a anti cellulite wrap. Here is how it works, they massage caffeinated cream in into problem areas and wrap you in some seaweed and other stuff. The seaweed and other stuff sucks the water out of your body while the caffeine swells the fat cells making the skin look smother, lasts about a week and you lose about 8-12 inches in that area. I remember it being expensive but worth it for the week in the sun. I have also heard that massage in general smooths the appearance, but there is no way to get rid of it ;(

I just saw the same episode. I am having a hard time accepting that there is nothing you can do. I was trying to figure out if hf was saying that there is no topical or oral cure and the only thing the cosmetic companies are ripping us off. But I surprised that he did not even say the appearance can be help with proper a proper diet and exercise (especially with his medical explanation of cellulite). For give me if I'm babbling but I am still in shock from hearing such a cut & dry no.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
