Bouquet costs?

Recommended Posts

I just got an estimate for the cost of my bouquet & it's a lot more than I was expecting, so I just wanted to see what you guys thought was normal.

I requested a quote for something similar this:Click the image to open in full size..

I'm not sure if I uploaded the image correctly, but it basically consists of orchids & roses. The quote was for $385.

Is that cost estimate similar to what you all have received?

I'm having a really hard time justifying that expense for something that I'm going to hold for an hour or so. :)

Thanks!

Orchids are VERY expensive in Mexico because they have to import them in. I'm paying $165.00 for roses and C. Orchids, but thats only one stem of orchids (about 12 flowers) and a few roses tucked in to add some contrast.

That flower arrangement looks pretty big (at least in the picture) so I would say it might still be a little high. Shop around a little more.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the cost. It seems like a waste of $$ to spend so much.

I got the quote from the wedding coordinator @ Las Ventanas & I'm not sure which florist she is using. I'll ask her. I guess I'm not super surprised about being ripped off just b/c it's Las Ventanas, but I have to draw the line somewhere! I feel better about spending that extra money on food, etc. Flowers are something else entirely.

The link to the other thread was helpful... at least to get a general idea of what other people were paying.

Maybe I should ask the wedding coordinator to get a quote from a different florist.

Someone mentioned on the older thread mentioned that palmela floreria was reasonable. I googled that, but nothing came up. Does anybody have their contact information? Tammy, in that thread, you also mentioned that you send someone the contact information for another cheap flower vendor. Was that palmela floreria or someone else?

Thanks again for all of your help!!

I'm not really sure if they accept outside vendors. I guess even if they don't like it, they can't stop me from going to pick up a bouquet from somewhere else & bringing it into the resort. :)

I searched the forum & I think I found a phone number for Pamela Floreria that Tammy posted last year. I'll have one of my Spanish speaking friends call & talk to them before I ask Las Ventanas what their policy is.

Thanks again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
