I believe that your guest could also stay at any Palace resort if you decide to stick with the Moon Palace. The only problem there, is that the Moon Palace isn't very close to the others. We were guests at a DW at the Moon Palace in Feb. 2007 and I believe that we could visit any of the other Palace resorts in Cancun/RM free of charge. I could be wrong here though, that week of life is rather foggy :)

The Resort you chose is very expensive for your guest. I thought about staying there and someone was going to give me a special where I stayed for 7 days at 1400 but it was just too expensive for my guests. If you want to compare prices to your TA then go to Apple Vacations website. That's where I got my lowest rates. Actually the resort group rate was cheaper but I liked the payment plan from my TA better. I would consider the changing resorts. I'm staying at RIU Caribe.

We looked at staying at the Aventura Spa Palace and decided that the price would be too steep for our guests. The palace resorts are priced higher. We always knew we wanted to stay in Mexico for 2 weeks, so we decided to treat ourselves to our honeymoon there our second week and chose a resort we could all enjoy and afford for the wedding. Good Luck!

That is the struggle, do we go with what we want and whoever is able to afford it can come? or do we compromise so that more people can come but have it not exactly what we want...my FH was dead set on this resort, I just want somewhere away and I do not really care about the resort but he is so picky and will only stay at 5 star. Unfortunately my family is not really a 5 star type of family so it is a tough compromise.

Wow, I didn't realize that MP was so expensive for guests. I was pretty sure I was going to go with this resort, but after reading this thread, I should probably look into other resort's group rates because my guests definitely have problems saving money, even if the wedding is a year away.

I honestly based my decision to go with Moon Palace because of the wedding package, what was included and the price of it. We realized that it would be a couple hundred dolalrs cheaper for the guests to go to another resort but alot of the wedding package were 3-5000k and the highest one at moon palace is 2200 and includes sooooo much! We are paying $2200 CAD for the week long trip to Moon!

We are having our wedding at the Moon Palace, and we actually didn't really realize it was considered expensive when we booked it. We really only looked at MP...and it was what we wanted so we went with it.

We had went to a DW in Jamaica the year before at a Beaches and it was almost twice the price as the MP is per night...so we thought it was pretty cheap by comparison!!

However, if it seems too much for you, I would go with a different resort. Honestly, that price seems about right.

And I love your BT picture! Woot woot!

I realized that all the TA's i spoke too were way more money then what i found on my own!! I say you wait it out because i felt the same way you do when i saw the prices and everything since then came down by alot. as time gets closer the prices will most likely come down or better offers will be available. Just do your research and check out obritz they give out coupons alot. I received 200$ off my total as well for using them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
