Hilary's PV/LC Vendor Reviews

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the great review Hilary!! We are having our reception/ceremony at Las Caletas in March. I noticed that you had 6 bridesmaids. Did all of them go over with you early that day and get ready in the bridal suite? I have seven bridesmaids and I was wondering if it would get too crowded w/ everyone there. I really want to bring everyone though.

Thanks!!

Brit

Sorry I've been MIA. There were 9 girls getting ready in the bridal suite at LC in hot as heck July while it was off and on showers outside (in other words, there were literally 9 girls in the room - not messing around outside or anything.) I wasn't ever crowded except for trying to share the mirror. I would just recommend bringing a hand mirror so girls can do their makeup on the couch. That's what my mom did, and it worked well. I do have it on my list of things to review the photographer and wedding day. I promise I'm going to do it as soon as I can!!!

Def bring a mirror so you can see the back of your head when your hair is done. I bet Fernando does this, but just in case any other girls have someone else or do their own hair.

Also, I had 7 or 8 (I can't remember- ha) people getting ready the day of. Two of them were the groom and his BM. It was hard getting around one another, but nothing too stressful. No worries. :) Just take turns and make sure it's clear the bride is priority!

Exactly, Rachel...the bride definitely is the priority! :) But I'm glad to hear it won't be totally overcrowded. You used Elizabeth Lloyd for your photography, right? Did you have some ideas of shots that you gave her beforehand, especially with such a big bridal party? Or did she just do her thing? I just want to make sure that wedding party and family shots are not overlooked. Thanks!

Trisha - I believe Christina used Fernando for their hair, so you might want to check out her pictures. She was really happy with how it turned out and she looked beautiful! :)

I don't think we ever discussed that in much depth. She asked me if I wanted a group shot, so we did that. Then she asked if we wanted to family shots, so we did that. She just did her thing. I figured she knew better than me what to capture. I didn't really have much thoughts in that area. But if you have specific shots you REALLY want, I would suggest touching base with her to make sure you are on the same page. Def can't hurt. :) Btw- Beth is fantastic!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
