I have been playing around with these and for some reason I am not totally satisfied. I am trying to go for a more of an elegant feel, than a cutesy beachy feel. They seem too plain, which I might be happier with if I print them on a textured or lightly tinted paper. I also don't feel like they flow, so maybe using the same clipart on all 3 pages? If so, which image?

My colors are aqua, with hints of lime and bright pink.

Thanks for looking!

I think they look great but I agree that using the same clip art on all three might tie it together a bit better somehow. I really like the second starfish. I can't really tell about the coloring but the light blue font looks really light in the photo- is it easy to read? My instinct tells me the darker blue is easier and also may look less cutesy since that is what you are going for. I love the pastel pink and blue but maybe play around with that and see how it looks. As far as paper- I think it's ok on this one - maybe you could look at the covers being a little shimmery? Not sure what you have planned.

Nice job though! These DIY projects are intimidating for me. I have a box of invite pocketfold stuff staring back at me....

I kinda liked the variety in the different clipart. But if you wanted something a little more smooth looking, perhaps you can use the same clipart and alter the colors between the blue and green that you are using? If I had to pick, I like the 1st clipart best.

Did you try cuttig one apart and putting it together to see how it looked as a completed boarding pass? That might change your ideas about how it looks now or give you ideas about what you want to change.

Alright Danielle you cracked me up and made me look again.. LOL...

I think they are great I really like how they are all different but I do think that maybe you should make it complete and see what you think after that... make another in the same clipart too and then go between the 2.

I really like the double starfish one!!

Hmmm.. I love them btw - You are very talented and patient! I could never sit down and do that!

I agree with a combination of what ppl said above.. I would definetely darken the colors but I like the 3 different clip art images. I would try it a couple different ways on plain paper and then see what you like best!!

FWIW, I like the first image (two starfish) best if you are trying to stay away from "cutesy". Also, I think it will make it more elegant to take the lime green out. When I think of "elegant" usually it has a less varied color palatte. So I'd stick with the blues and blacks and maybe keep the little bit of pink for the RSVP part. You want that to stand out so people don't miss it!

~PS - I like the other starfish images... I just think they are "cuter" than the first one.

Hey Jenny. I love what you've done already. I think all the suggestions you've received are great. This is what I think:

Page 1 Your names could be a bit larger and if you think it's too much maybe go larger with a gray color instead of black. I also like the idea of keeping the clip art the same throughout but maybe not the entire thing - same on 1st 2 pgs. I like clipart #2 or #3 for a more elegant feel though you could use #1 in a lighter color to achieve same results.

Page 2 Your names or title of page could be a different color - maybe gray or incorporating the lime or pink in a subtle way. Maybe a hint of color in your monogram?

Page 3 I like a different clip art for the last page and the sand dollar is nice.

You can keep the paper simple or textured but I probably wouldn't use a colored paper. Maybe a pearlized paper for the cover?

(BTW I thought about doing these as my invites too but I'm a little traumatized from my passport STD experience. I keep thinking this project might be easier - guess not - eck.)

Good luck!!!!

Thanks everyone for your input so far. I just got sick of looking at them myself and your opinions are helping greatly.

Wendy, this project is so much easier than the passport STD. I did those too and they were much more tedious!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
