Fans May Reduce Risk of SIDS

Recommended Posts

I use a fan just outside of Ainsleigh's room and if its ever in her room I never let it blow directly on her. Honestly the risk of her getting an ear infection far outweighs the risk of her dying, so I think you have to decide what is more important to you.

I took C to the childrens musuem today and they have HISSING COCKROACHES there. It is so nasty. They are behind glass but still its gross. They also have these orange assassin bugs...um why would a bug be called an assassin if it wasn't good? wtf.gif Um no! Totally freaks me out!
So, this is a total hijacked.gif but Calia, you would probably get how freaked out I was when we were visiting old friends of FI's in New Jersey in the summer and it turned out their place was filthy... we were so disgusted by their home (you think Iyou know where I'm going with this but you can't possibly imagine).
Anyway, FI realizes that it's our anniversary (11 months) and I'm dying thinking we're supposed to sleep over on their futon. I mean this place was the grossest I've ever seen.
At just that moment, their landlord comes downstairs and says he's going off to the Caribbean and would they mind looking after his HISSING COCKROACHES and then puts a box of them ON THE TABLE in front of us. smile43.gif

I've never ran so fast to get out of someone's home. Phew! We ended up driving late at night and had to stay at some terrible Bates motel, but nothing could have been worse. LOL!

OH MY GOD! I just got shivers and had to check my sheets! EWWW. We get spiders here and I HATTTE spiders. I saw one the other day crawl into my built in dresser and everytime I get clothes out I have to shake them. It freaks me out!

I just wanted to say I feel like my words were taken out as "Let your kid die or prevent ear infections" which is not what I meant. I was just trying to say it CAN happen not that it WILL happen. I would sleep with a fan but I live in CO and the nights get colder here. But when I lived in Texas I always slept with a fan. But I balanced it with a humidifier. That's all I was saying. I would never say put your child at risk. Blah I'm rambling I just hate when my words come out wrong and people jump on me.

Ugh now I'm totally thinking bugs are in my bed!

Oh Martha, I asked my boss this afternoon about the monitor. She said she had no problems with the fan. The only problem was if they plugged it in a certain outlet it would crackle. But if they moved it it was fine. I don't know if that had to do with the fan. So I tested during his afternoon nap and turned his fan on and turned the monitor up. And it was fine. Is it overhead fans or the standing fanshuh.gif I can try with a standing fan?

Calia, The problem with the ceiling fans is that the monitor would not go off once the baby was taken out of the crib while the monitor was turned on. Did you take the baby out and leave the monitor on to see if the monitor would go off? People were saying it wouldn't go off because the monitor was picking up on the movement of the fan and not the baby. I would be interested to see what happens. Can you do this? We are going to buy the monitor soon but would love to know the outcome of your experiment. :)

I mean the sensor. Aren't you supposed to turn the sensor off after baby gets out of crib? If you leave the sensor on, then take the baby out of crib and the sensor doesn't go off, then it isn't working right because of the fan. KWIM?

    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
    • So we are currently looking for an all inclusive resort for the wedding. We have 60 guests and found all the Dreams resorts as options and all of them gave us a quote and discounted price since it’s off season etc. Resorts in Punta Canta gave us a reasonable price, Dominicus gave us a really good deal then La Romana Resort and Spa gave us their regular price and so hard to negotiate. Will someone tell us how special is this resort that they won’t give us a good discount when all my guests are staying in their resort for 5-8 days. We are bringing $$$ in their resort and not give us a discount?  What is so special with this resort?  Can somebody recommend a beautiful resort?
