Boss's Day Gifts

Sooo boss's day is right around the corner- Oct. 16. I'm trying to figure out what to do for my boss, but it's so hard. Anyone buying their boss's a gift? If so, what?

hmmmm. In the past, I've given beautiful dish gardens (larger ones), flower arrangements, spa certs, edible arrangements(nicely carved fruit on sticks).

 

(BTW - I'm the HR person at my job so I get that lucky task. Gifts are from the whole team - not just one person)

Wait, there's such thing as Bosses Day? I haven't gotten nearly enough gifts! LOL

 

I like the idea of a spa certificate or desk garden. I just read something about how having a plant on your desk acts as a natural air filter and removes some percentage of pollutants...I guess reading more carefully would have made that a better comment

The exec admins at our company try to get together and give our executives the same gift. It's hard though cause it's a male/female team, so we try to find something that's somewhat unisex. Last year, we gave them all beautiful plants for their offices (which we end up watering to keep alive!) because the office were new and kinda dull. They also got food baskets- chocolate, cheese, etc that we kept in a common area so they could take what they liked.

Our budget has been cut severly too so it's kinda hard.

Rachel, could you see if a massage therapist could come in one afternoon and offer chair massages?

 

No one would have to disrobe and it might be a nice mid-day pick me up. I think they are usually 10-15 minutes long.

We talked about that one yesterday, but then we thought that some of them might not like that- I could see a few not wanting to be touched. haha, it's so hard. I've suggested trying to personalize the gifts but they want to keep it the same for everyone. Mostly because we like some more than others- obviously. And I think it would be kinda easy to see who we knew better too. I chit chat with a few of the execs all the time (ie- non work talk) and other's I only talk work with.
