Grand Palladium brides who have booked your wedding...

Recommended Posts

How did the process go? What were the steps? I sent an email to Charmaine telling her that I was interested in having my wedding at the resort. She sent me the wedding info which I already had. She said that I could contact her if I had any questions or needed additional information. I sent her another email asking about particular wedding things that are not listed in the info she sent. I also asked her what the next step would be to have my wedding at the resort. She emailed me back saying to pay particular information to the cancellation policy. This does not state anything about how to book the wedding. It just discusses the cancellation policy. I told her that I was ready to book and she sent me a step by step email saying 1. I let her know what date and time I am interested in (I let her know this in the second email) 2. She would hold the date for two weeks 3. Send in the deposit. I sent her another email with the date and time that I am interested in. Her response, "That date is available for the time being". I am so lost. What was your booking procedure like? Please help.

Here's what I did....

I inquired about availability on the date. Once I found out what times were available on that day, I chose a slot & she placed a hold on it for me for 2 weeks.

The timing worked out that I was actually on my way down there for a site visit during those 2 weeks, so before the hold expired, I filled out their wedding agreement form (page 7 in the wedding information packet), and put down the $300 deposit to seal the deal.

After I got back she sent me an e-mail that my deposit had been processed and that my wedding date & time were confirmed.

You are a blessing Petals.....what would we do without you! It is great to know someone that has been to the resort. My Travel agent knows the 'manager' of the resort and is taking care of all the plans for me but it is nice to know what the process is so that I can make sure she is doing her part.

Keep the information flowin.....

Hey

Don't worry. It's a very slow procces.

There is an agreement form in the attachement that she sent you, you need to fill it out, make sure it has signature, package that you want, date & credit card info for the deposit. You need to fax that form to her. That document is the agrement between you & resort, she will reply confirming the date & time.

That's the way I did. My wedding is on Nov. 21, 2008.

Good luck.

Glad I can help! I'll be looking forward to everybody's reviews since almost all of the GPJ brides on the board are getting married before me!

Thank you ladies!!! I read all of the information she sent and filled out the agreement form. I advised her of the date and time I wanted. She said she would hold the date for two weeks after I let her know. When she responded with, "The date and time are available for the time being". I got confused. She didn't say she would hold it for two weeks.

Thanks Petals!!! I have read your other thread about the resort and it helped me alot in my decision process.

I was so hooked on Grand Palladium and now I am thinking about changing my mind. I have been waiting for a response for a week now. I know the coordinator is busy working on other weddings but there are things that I need to know before the deposit is sent in. Does anyone know if the deposit is refundable? Is this how it is going to be once I finally do book my wedding. Am I not going to be able to get responses until weeks later? I'm so confused.

Charmaine has been a lot slower with her responses lately. When I initially started contacting her, she would respond within a day or two, but lately it's been taking far longer.

I figured she is probably swamped & is responding to the 08 brides first. Maybe you could call her if you need an urgent reply?

Here is their cancellation policy. From this, it looks like you can get your deposit back as long as you cancel more than 2 weeks in advance...

Deposit and Cancellation Policy:

We require a deposit of US$300.00 to confirm your wedding. A completed Credit Card Authorization Form and a photocopy of the back and front of the signed credit card, along with a copy of the card holder’s Photo I.D. (Passport or Driver’s License) and a completed Wedding or Renewal of Vows Agreement Form, must be forwarded to the resort with a completed ‘Wedding Agreement Form’ within two weeks after wedding is reserved.

A cancellation fee of US$300.00 will be charged if ceremony is cancelled within two weeks of the scheduled date.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
