Dress shopping tomorrow, any advice?!

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I thought that I found my dress months ago at Sak's outlet. It really is beautiful, but I am wanting to do all kinds of changes and alterations to it to make it what I "really" want. So, I decided to take the day and just go and try some on. I might find something that i will fall in love with that I didn't even imagine that I would like. (different body styles, colors, etc...)

I just hit around the 6 month mark until our big day, and I want to really surprise him!

Yup...camera is a must...we want lots of pics!

And wear some good underwear...no skimpy thongs....it's uncomfortable standing in front of a 60 year old woman who's trying to help you with your dress while you're wearing a thong :P Not that I've had any personal experience or anything haha

Try on something you would never pick -- not heinous 1980's crazy lady dress but it you typically would go simple -- try a really elaborate gown...change out the fit -- if you go Aline - try a mermaid or a different cut...you might as well try them because those sometimes surprise you...

take tons of pictures and really enjoy it....oooh and if the ladies dont let you take pictures this is what I did -- I would send them on a hunt for a specific dress or shoe or something and then as soon as they walked away my friend would snap away...if you cant think of anything, ask if they have the catalog with the picture of the dress in it...

Leigh I beg to differ, I think you SHOULD try on an 80's dress and then post a picture of it for us.. Please, pretty please.. popcorn.gif

Bring an elastic for your hair. I remember I got super hot and needed to tie my hair up. All those dresses can be exhausting. High heels is another must. The dresses look better with heels on. A strapless bra always helps too

Good luck and please post some pics :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
