Congrats to you girls!

I have stopped my pills a lil over a year ago after being on them for 13 years and FI and I desperately wanted to start planning right away so we tried for about 6 months and nothing. We decided that maybe its not the right time seeing as how we had just decided to do a DW....Now with about 4 months until the wedding we are getting antsy again and we have not been as cautious....we have a few moments when we are like if it happenes it happens because we Do want a baby like yesterday but then I keep thinking I want to be able to enjoy the Honeymoon so we decide to not try but In actually its kinda like I wanna just stop trying "not to" and let it happen...Its driving me crazy. I bought a dress that is very flowy so in case I do have a bump it can be concealed but its scary and exciting at the same time...I said that after the wedding if nothing I will have to seek alternative measures to ensure We can actually conceive.. I went for prenatal counseling like 6 months ago and the Doc said everything is fine...I just wanna make sure HE is all good..frown.gif

I'm sorry you have to go through all of this. I can sort of relate. I have endo which causes infertility. We tried to get pregnant on our honeymoon, I came back the very next day I had a doc appt, and I found out I had to do surgery before I could even consider getting pregnant.
I recently did the surgery, the doc has 'little' hope I can get pregnant, but will have to go the in vitro route to have any sort of chance.
We just bought a house, so the timing isn't real good anymore, so we decided to wait a few more months before starting the in vitro.

Your in my prayers, I know it'll work out for you guys!!!! who knows maybe it'll be a honeymoon baby like a lot of brides on here!!
keep us posted, and if you ever need to vent or just talk, we here for you anytime!! xo

Oh i like this post. We plan to 'stop being careful' on our wedding night. I cant imagine it will happen straight away, but then again it might. It does worry me a little cos i will be drinking throughout the rest of the holiday cos its AI, and we have our reception party when we get back which i will be having a good drink at.

It strange cos i want to start trying right away, but i also want to enjoy myself and have a good drink. Cant put it all on hold, just gonna try and see what happens. Is that irresponsible of me?

I feel excatly the same! I want to start letting nature decide as soon as we're married but I also want to enjoy the rest of my trip (that includes drinking!)

Its a tough one... and I dont know what to do either !

To you ladies who want to drink on your honeymoon, I'll tell you what my doctor told me when I asked her last week about drinking and TTC.

I asked her if I should give up drinking completly now that we are TTC, and that I would stop completely if she told me it would be best for my future child.

Her response was that before you know you are pregnant, the embryo is so tiny and the blood flow between mother and baby is very minimal.  She said later on its like the grand canyon with mom passing blood back and forth to baby, but when it is really early, it relatively minimal.  She said as soon as you find out you're pregnant, obviously all drinking should stop, but before you miss your period, you don't have much to worry about.  I wasn't talking about binge drinking (à la vacation style), I was talking about a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, but she definetly put my mind at ease.

Obviously talk to your own doctor if you're concerned, and keep in mind alcohol does negatively affect fertility for both men and women, but if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't worry about drinking on my honeymoon after speaking to my own doc.

Glad I found this thread! We are thinking of stopping not trying on our trip. It would be nice to have a couple of years as husband and wife but honestly, we've been together for 4 years, lived together for 3 1/2, own our own home, have a cat, well settled in our jobs, so there's nothing else that "needs" to be done before we start trying. I'll be 29 1/2 when we get married, so I wouldn't want to leave it much later, but FI will be very nearly 35 and I would definitely like to have a couple before he's 40. The only thing that's putting me off is the possibility of not drinking at our AHR 6 weeks after the wedding but, even more off putting is having to hide the fact that I'm not drinking from my beady eyed future SIL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
