Tanning (fake - spray on) in PV??

Recommended Posts

Ok so there's no way to get around it - I am PALE. With freckles. And I love the way I look with a Mystic tan. However, it just streaks right off once you get into the pool or sweat. We're going down to PV on a Tues. and the wedding is on a Sunday. My sister swears that she knows people who get the "real" spray on tans (by a person) and they don't come off like the Mystic tans do, but she admitted that it probably wouldn't last that long...

SO does anyone know where to get a personal spray on tan in PV?? Any experience at all with this?

If not I guess I'm just gonna have to load up on Jergen's like crazy...

P.S. To prove to y'all just how pale I am - in my siggy pic I have a Mystic Tan! smile120.gif

I bet if any photographers chime in, they will say to please no fake tan.. it doesn't look good in photos AND it isn't you. I remember Juan Carlos telling us all how horrible it shows in photos, even if it looks ok in person.

I know what you mean about being pale.. I'm super pale too but that's me.. that's how I look 365 days a year (well except when I miss a spot with the SPF and I'm red!) why would I want my wedding photos to make me look like someone I'm not?

If you are having something done I would do it before you leave for the wedding. Can you imagine how horrible it would be to have a bad job done while down there? There's no time to fix and it would probably be something you'd regret forever. That's just my opinion anyhow.

Yeah, I definitely get what you're saying... that's why I wanted to check and see if anyone has already had this done by chance..? It wouldn't even need to be a big difference... I just know my photographer's use of color (BRILLIANT!) and am so scared of my freckles popping out like crazy!!!

Hi JaimeLynne,

I was curious to whether or not you had come to a decision regarding this...

Have you tried the spray tan via a person? If so, how did you like it and how well did it wear off?

I am very pale myself and normally have some color with daily build-a-tan lotions. It's not a lot of color - but it really makes a difference by giving my skin a nice even color - ya know? undecided.gif I'm not trying to go 3-4 shades darker.

I know you can get the spray tans done in a lighter shades for us pale ladies so it looks more natural. I was considering doing this for my boudoir photo's since I'll be baring a lot of skin! angel1.gif HAHA I guess I should ask my photographer - I thought it would be fine for this since it's indoor lighting and not outdoor natural light...

Okay I'm super pale - probably way more than you! I've done the spray tan and the mystic. The spray tan by a person looks great when you are out and about - but in photos - I looked so orange because of how pale I really am. I would recommend waiting till the honeymoon so your wedding pics don't turn out orange.

Good luck!

JL-

I agree with someone else. After arriving on Tuesday and being in the sun you will have a nice tan even with 30spf.

I just went to my BF's wedding in St. John's and she has the same problem, but by her wedding she had a little color and it looked great. Just make sure you wear a bathing suit that doesn't show your lines.

Best

Kathy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
