I'm not a paying member though, I think you have to be to do the community stuff, right? Dang, i'm going to have to figure out how to keep my dogs calm while laying in bed for a few minutes. They are crazy in the morning and want to get off the bed right away to eat :).

Hi girls! I havent been on this forum in so long and I was happy to see a TTC thread. I saw someone mentioned COS-thats what i have, on top of male factor infertility. We have been TTC for over 4 years- a roller coaster for sure. Only one year of actual infertility care from a RE( fertility specialist).

FF is ok. The basic version in so-so.

The softeware that comes with TCOYF is the BEST.

You need a Basal thermometer for a few reasons-one is for the decimal points-thats how software tracks your temps. A rise can be from 97.55 to 97.99.

I am on this forum-www.soulcysters.net

Its for women with PCOS, however theres so much regular TTC information and theres forums on pcos, IUI, clomid, femara, injectable drugs, alternative therapies, endometriosis, TCOYF, BBT's, CBEFM,diet/exercise, pregnant women, moms, acupuncture, and on and on.

If you have questions-please feel free to ask. I feel like I could be an RE at this point, I know this TTC stuff inside and out and the closest ive come is a m/c this past November. But Im here, trying again this month with my IUI,s acupuncture, and prayers! :) GL, HTH

I think I'll start taking my temperature tomorrow morning if I remember. Is it possible to just do that and not worry about the CM?

How are you all doing? Tami? Calia? Hope you're all doing ok. I know that if I get AF in early Jan I will be sad and that's just one month. I can see already how it can be quite the emotional rollercoaster.

Welcome. It sounds hard at the beginning but it's not really. If you really want to understand it I suggest getting the book Taking Charge of your Fertility. Very detailed and easy to understand. I use CM and temp personally. Sometimes your temp can be off for a variety of reasons. Drinking the night before, sickness, restless sleep and other things. So using your CM helps you pinpoint your ovulation date.

Yes it is such a rollercoaster. I hope that each of you on here gets preggo fast. 2 years of this rollercoaster is really hard and I don't wish it on anyone.

We took a break for a month and a half. I just couldn't stop crying one night. So I took all my stuff and threw it in the trash. Dh went and saved it later and hid it for when I was ready again. I'm now on progesterone to help balance out my estrogen. And trying not to get stress as that makes your estrogen level go higher. DH is adjusting me b/c my hips and pelvis are so out of whack its messing with my uterus. So that's my update.

My issue is the time. I often have to get up and pee in the middle of the night. And today I had to get up at 5 and I wasn't going to take my temp until 6:30, so I didn't have 3 hrs sleep before. Is that a big deal?

Kat - that would be cool re: FF. I will get more into it and then we can PM and friend eachother smile29.gif
I also pee in the very early morning. If between peeing and waking you don't have 3 hours I would take your temp when you pee. If its the same time every day just take it then. If it's not then set an alarm to wake you up and temp then pee. Don't pee first!

I've been charting my temp with a regular thermometer for the past few weeks to get the hang of it. Is there really a difference between thermometers? This one seems to be doing the trick. Do you all take it while lying in bed? I get up and walk three steps to the bathroom to take mine. I can see this will be a roller coaster ride already!
You really need basal b/c it's more accurate. It's really used for your internal temperature. I know quite a few TTCer's who take it vaginally. Of course you don't have to but it's more accurate. I do it orally. Yes you should not move before taking your temperature or lay there. Your temperature rises the longer you lie in bed. Do it first thing. If you don't have a nightstand tuck it in the mattress. I keep mine on my nightstand within arms reach. Yes it's a rollercoaster ride. Hope your ride is short!

Andrea,

I really recommend getting the paid version of FF. Or another site if you choose. I have learned sooo much more by being a paid member. Just buy a month or something and if you don't like it it's only ten bucks. I bought a month then liked it so I bought three more months for like 15 bucks. Also, if you get someone else to join you and that other person get a free 30 days. I haven't used the TCOYF software but I have heard great things about the book so I bet it's great as well. Good luck to you and we are all here if you have questions.

Hi Andrea! I'll second Kat on this. I'm on FF now and paid for a 3 month from the start. It's nice because that way you have access to the forum and some other cool charting stuff. I'm 'enjoying' it... as much as you can!
PM me if you join and I'll add you too!

Good luck everyone.

Calia, your DH sounds very sweet. It sounds like a good thing that you took a break. I'm only into my 2nd month, so I can't even imagine what you've been through. smile03.gif

I went for my first ultrasound to see if there were any problems as I've been on the longest cycle of my life recently (over 55 days). They did an external and internal. It was kind of interesting, but also sad, because we were looking at an empty womb.

I'm bummed because Iwent and bought one for $20 (there were no cheaper ones) and it said it was super accurate. Well, it just goes to one decimal point, so I could have just used my regular digital thermometer. Boo! But now that I'm using it, I'm not changing - have to keep the temping as accurate as possible and switching thermometers would/could mess it up.

Anyone who is interested in FF should PM one of us with your email address so we can "recommend" you and then we will both get 30-days free ... which is totally worth it.

I love, love FF. I tried TCOYF as well, but definitely prefer FF - but it could be b/c I started with FF.

My update is that I start Clomid next cycle. I had my HSG earlier this month and my tubes are all clear. I actually am 7DPO right now and have some pretty crazy cramps (almost so bad I am concerned it could be another kidney stone attack) - of course I am hoping (but not optimistic) that it's implantation cramps. Ah, who knows. I have no real PG symptoms ... but I certainly hopeful it's NOT kidney stones again.

I haven't really been temping this month ... and am not obssessing either b/c DH was out of town so much that we only had 1 worthwhile BD session.

Fingers crossed that our first Clomid cycle is a success next month!

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Thanks everyone for all of the info! I think i'll sign up for the paid membership when we get back from our wedding trip if AF arrives on schedule. Andrea, I agree about sticking to my thermometer for now because i'm used to it. It has the usual 1 decimal point. I believe i'm 3 DPO right now and have had three consecutive days of temp rise (97.6, 97.8, 98.1). We'll see what happens! I wish you all the best with your TTC journey! I love that we can support each other with BDW and FF!

Hi, Girls. This is a great support thread! I have had 2 miscarriages and we are not TTC right now. We may try again later, but I was just too devastated after the 2nd one. My progesterone is low, so they think that is the cause. I even get hotflashes at night after ovulation. We had 2 little girls with no problems, so that is amazing! My heart goes out to all of you through these difficult times. It is hard when you see people who don't want children get pregnant easily, and the people who want to can't. Hang in there, girls! Thanks for sharing your stories so others don't feel so alone!

Katie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
