We've been TTC for well over a year now and I think we've about given up hope, so are taking a much needed step back to reevaluate.

Hugs Carly. I am going on 3 1/2 years. I feel your pain. Do take a break from the stress of it. It helps!

I wanted to share some good news as this week marks an important milestone for me as I reach 13 weeks on Thursday. Yes it's the end of my first trimester and now the risks of miscarriage are in majority behind me !! So happy smile159.gifToday I went for my first trimester screening and the baby was moving so much it was hard to measure the nuchal translucency ! We saw all his hands and feet and fingers it was awesome :)

Next big step is the results of the screening... and maybe the amniocentesis... and then opening the baby registry lol !

Good luck to all !

Congrats Ayita!! You must be over-the-moon excited!

I hope the amnio goes well...I think that can be a bit risky...? We will all have our fingers crossed for you:-)

Carly, I am SO sorry...

Perhaps a step back is what you need...

I'm just a month of trying in so I'm sure I can't grasp how disappointed and frustrated you must be...

But I can say that wow, baby-making can be exhausting and again, we've only been at it one month! So I can imagine how mentally and emotionally exhausted you must be... break would probably be good.

I did find out from using that Clearblue digital fertility monitor that I don't ovulate until like day 19! yikes. Glad I bought it:-)

I'm pretty sure AF is coming (all the symptoms) so I don't think we were successful this time...

Calia - you don't have to answer if it's too personal, but is there a diagnosis on why it's taking you guys so long?  I remember some of your story, but not all.

Simistar - I just started using the CBFM last month too, but it was only as successful for me as OPK's (ovulation predictor kits) were.  I did them side by side, so I could compare and my OPK's always gave an almost + the day before my definite + and then an almost the day after and those were the days the FM told me too.  So I'm really glad I didn't pay for it, it was a gift from my husbands cousin who bought it but got pregnant before she could use it.  However, I know that other people get a bigger window from using it, or the OPK's don't register a positive for them ever, so I think it is a good tool, it just doesn't offer me anything more then a regular old internet cheapie OPK does.

Oh and don't feel bad about late ovulation, the earliest I have ever O'd was CD17, but I average CD20 with CD24 being my latest.  And my LP ranges from 9-14 days long which is abnormal.  And my cycles range from 25-36 days long. They are all wacked out after my ectopic pregnancy and loss of my left fallopian tube last June.

Hey Carly!

I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing???

We're about to go into month three of trying...(well, I'm pretty sure we are...I feel the signs of AF coming, so guess round two wasn't successful either:-))

But wanted to make sure you're doing okay?;-)

Well, I'm still not pregnant that's for sure!  We stopped injections and medications in June I think and just continued with acupuncture for a few months until quitting that 1-2 months ago too.  Matt thought it would miraculously happen once we stopped "trying".  I think he finally sees that there's a problem so he mentioned going to get a SA (seman analysis) done and talking to the doctors again about what our options are.  So we have an appt next Monday to do both of those things.  I have a feeling they are going to tell us that IVF is the next step and we aren't there yet - mentally, emotionally or financially.  I'm hoping that we can maybe go back to one of the drugs (preferably in pull form!) that will stimulate ovulation so that maybe we can get my right side working instead of my left always ovulating.  I just can't believe it's been 1.5 years since our loss and we are still trying.  Who knew it would be this hard??!

Are you guys doing anything other then tracking ovulation and timed intercourse?

Rereading the last few posts, I had to say that I'm on CD18 now and still haven't ovulated!  FF has pushed back my average day to CD20.  Just wanted to put that out there since you were worried about CD19 last time.  Have your cycles been consistent since starting the FM?

Carly,

Sorry I haven't answered. Didn't see it. I check like 2 threads on here! I was told a while back I had POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) but then was told that was a false diagnosis. I am now listed under "unexplained infertitlity". There is no explained reason on why. I am going on now 4 years in May of not getting pregnant. I totally feel your pain!!

It's annoying to me too! And I get comments ALLL the time. "Relax, when you're not trying it will work." "It'll happen when God is ready" , "When you least expect it." "Enjoy your time as a married couple, you'll miss it when you get pregnant."Puh-lease. We have tried not trying. We have relaxed and just enjoyed our time together. But those comments rub me the wrong way!! I'm tired of hearing them. Hahaha!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
