LOL...Well, I did ask my guests to rsvp with the STD. That way, I had more of a head count & would know what I was dealing with in terms of making air/hotel reservations. Also, I sent out a letter with the air/hotel rates with the STD's so people knew how much the entire trip would cost. Being that we had our guests booking together as a group, it was important that we had some type of estimate & we knew who was in & who was out. Thats mainly why we asked for rsvp's when I sent out the STD's.
And yes, early rsvp's certainly helped when it came down to sending invites. Even though mine were DIY, I didn't overspend when it came to the materials that I used & helped. It also helped me in general with knowing how large my wedding related projects would be, in terms of how many oot bags I would potentialy have to make, the amount of items I'd put in them, how many raffia fans I'd have to make, how many favors I'd need...the list goes on.
Early numbers were important for me & it really does all add up!
That's what I did. STD with tentative RSVP's. Those that respond yes or maybe will get a formal invite later. And knowing what the numbers might be does help.
