Aqua- I am sure you have the right place. They have one restaurant and then two little places that serve food like a pool bar and something else. Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I have been so busy planning.

Kristin928- Are you freaking out yet? Yay!!!! We are almost there!!!!

Kblocker- sorry to write again but your response didn't show up when I was posting!

YES! Freaking out for sure! I leave in less than 2 weeks and I feel so happy/lost/confused! Trying to pack for the wedding, plus beachware, then honeymoon (which is a different climate) is so hard! Then I am having to borrow suitcases for the OOT bag stuff. Oh well, it's an adventure, right?

I hope we get a chance to meet up! :)

Good luck with your wedding- it will be fun to see how things went once we are both back!

Hi ladies,

I just thought I would check in and see how everything was going. Kblocker- you are almost ready to leave!!! I hope I can meet you after your wedding. I arrive on Tuesday, the 28th so I hope we can chat for 5 minutes (and hopefully re-assure that everything will be fabulous).

I booked my hair appointments with Karla. She took about a week to book everyone but did get us all accommodated.

Rebeca has been very responsive to all of my emails and is paying attention to what I want! I can't complain at this point.

I did decide to do a non-private event but am paying to add red overlays to the tables. I am doing a welcome cocktail hour on Friday night in the Infinity Terrace.

Aqua32Marine- There is only one restaurant. They have it divided in sections though. I have heard they rotate the food each night so it's not the same thing.

Anyway, I think that's it for now! Good luck ladies!

Hey ladies,

I am off to Mexico tomorrow! I just wanted to say thanks for all of the ideas and help posted on this forum. I keep checking the weather daily to see if my wedding day will be sunny (fingers crossed). Hopefully I will get to meet up with Kblocker so she can calm my nerves!

I will be sure to post a review once I am back- but that's in a month! Sorry for the wait! Good luck with your planning :) I am off to become a Mrs.....

New Trip Advisor Post!!

“My perfect wedding!â€

Isla Mujeres Palace

Atlanta, GA

May 1, 2009 I had my wedding at the Isla Mujeres Palace. It was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we felt like royalty. The staff was friendly and extremely attentive. If you needed something, they had it for you in record time. I had 25 guests staying at this resort and every single one of them have raved about the resort. It's small but intimate. The liquor is all top shelf. My guests were drinking Don Julio the whole time. The food was really good. I have high expectations for food and I knew it wasn't going to be 5 star quality, but it was very good. It was 10 times better than I would ever expect from an all inclusive. I am in serious withdrawals from their chicken tacos. I had never been to an all inclusive, but some of my guests had and they told me it was much better than any all inclusive's food they've ever had. The pool can get a little crowded when the guests come over from the Moon Palace, but you never have to fight to get a chair. There was always room for a group of us to sit together. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The jacuzzi tub was enormous!

If you're thinking about having your wedding here, it's amazing! My wedding planner, Rebeca bent over backwards to make it a wonderful occasion. It was a BEAUTIFUL setting and it's not a crazy crowded beach so it was still very private. I did a private reception up on the terrace upstairs. We had our own bar and 5 wait staff tending to our every need. I could not have had a better location for my wedding.

We went to a much larger resort for our honeymoon and missed the Isla Mujeres Palace. We missed the attention we received, the quality of the liquor and the food.

If you are the type that loves huge impersonal resorts, this isn't the place for you. There is only one restaurant and a snack bar. There isn't huge amounts of activity every night. This is a place where you go and relax and get treated like kings and queens. I hope we're able to go back to celebrate our 1 year anniversary here.

Thank you Isla Mujeres Palace for making my wedding a magical event!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
