Anyone have a MAC? help, please....

I am still getting used to my new MAC - I love it - but some things are so different than my PC.

I have my external hard drive that I used with my PC and it has all my PC iTunes files on it. But when I plug it into my MAC, it doesn't read those files so I can transfer them to iTunes on my MAC.

Any suggestions?

Also, anyone know of some good PhotoBook software to use with MAC? The ones I've found don't allow for much creativity. I like Asukabook.com ... but it says you have to be a professional photog and I don't know how to get around that requirement b/c it asks for your website, company name, etc.

I have plenty more questions, but thought I'd see if there are any BDW MAC users first. wink.gif

We have an iMac at home but I'm a pretty basic user. I don't really know the answers to either of those questions, sorry! I think when I tried to move my iTunes files over, they wouldn't, so I had to re-load everything. I'm sure that doesn't help you, LOL. There's probably some software you can use to convert the files or something...

Tami, we're a Mac-only household LOL

Are you sure the external HD is not corrupted? The mac should have no problem reading the files if everything is ok with them. Can you see any other files on the hard drive?

P.S. There is also a built-in photo book maker with iPhoto.

Hi Tami,

Like Maura said (hi Maura! :) You shouldn't be having problems with your external drive and retrieving files. There is always the genius bar and any apple store you can bring your mac in for free and they will trouble shoot with you. It might be corrupted like Maura said, in that case there are some recovery programs you can download to get your files back and places you can send the external drive o that can usually recover most of your files. Hope that helps. Also, as for bookmaking software...here are some good ones I have found...

blurb.com

mypublisher.com

you can purchase software called page gallery by Yervant (it works with photoshop) it is for professional photographers, but I dont think anything is required to order it. It's not as user friendly, but LOTS of options!

:) good luck!

I'd love to take it to the Genius Bar, but we don't have any MAC stores around here. I will next time I visit my sister in ATL.

I think I am just not familiar with how to navigate the MAC b/c the files are all there (no corruption on the EHDD, and can view everything if I use the external hard drive with a PC ... I think I just don't know where to look or how to navigate properly.

I'll check out blurb.com!

I see the PhotoBook option on here, but I want to do different background and such and this one seems much more basic, like plugging pics into already made templates. I want to be able to use my pics as full-bleed backgrounds and then add other pics on the same page ... but again, I may just need a Mac for Dummies lesson. I'm trying to figure all this out on my own, and I have a PC mind for the last 20+ years. :-)

Thanks for the advice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
