Letter to go with my luggage tags

Hi girls. I figured I'd post this here since it's more about cruising then anything. I'm sending this letter out with my luggage tags I made for my guests prior to our cruise wedding. I think I covered all the bases, some of our guests have never cruised before, I'm just trying to make sure they have everything they need to know.

Any feedback is welcome!!

Welcome fellow cruisers!!

First off, we would like to thank you in advance for attending our cruise wedding. Enclosed, weâ€ve attached 2 luggage tags per person to use on our adventure. If you need more, please feel free to let us know, we can always toss them in the mail.

Secondly, since some of you are not seasoned cruisers, weâ€d like to give you a little heads up on things to know prior to our cruise.

-Our first day is mainly a travel day. We will be leaving early, driving 2 hours to the pier, going through security check points, checking in for our cruise. Make sure you are dressed comfortable!

-Carry on bags. Once we arrive at the pier, your luggage will be dropped off with the stevedores. Any type of medication should be in your carry on. Also, you will not see your luggage until possibly after dinner, so anything you need for the day should go in this bag, i.e. Passport, cash, jewelry, IDâ€s, ect. You also may not be allowed immediately to get into your cabin, so make sure this bag isnâ€t to large to carry around for an hour or 2.

-Checking in, you must have all paperwork filled out. Please make sure you complete the online check in also to speed up the process of checking in at the pier. Have your passport, credit card, and all signed documents close at hand. If you plan on using cash against your room, you must go to the purserâ€s desk once we get on the ship and leave it there.

-Packing, Dining in the main dining room requires no shorts. Men should pack khakis and polo or button down shirts for dinner. Woman, capriâ€s, skirts, ect are appropriate. Wedding day attire is casual, no suits needed! Men please be comfortable in khakis and a button down or polo type shirt. Woman, feel free to wear your favorite sun dress! The wedding is on the beach, so keep that in mind when picking out clothing and shoes! We are cruising from Bayonne, so make sure you pack a light jacket or hoodie, it tends to get chilly on the open decks at night.

We canâ€t wait to see all of you on the boat!!

Looks great! All of it is great information for your guests plus it will get them excited for the trip!!! Do you have pics of your luggage tags? I'm also working on them :).

We also have mostly 1st time cruisers in our group. I put together an info sheet for my website but it's mostly geared towards RCCL. Maybe i'll post it in another thread.

Great info!!

My only suggestions would be I'd change it to "ship" instead of "boat". And maybe add a blurb about funds being tied up if using a debit card (as a visa) instead of an actual credit card for the cabin deposit. My first timers usually never realize how the daily hold from the cruise line can tie up all their cash for a week or so.

Pug - We're sailing RCCL also, so please post your list. That would be great! Here's the link to my luggage tags (thanks again Becks!)

Dina - Thanks for mentioning that! Last year, my mom forgot to tell the bank about going on vaca and they ended up freezing her account. I totally forgot about that. I'll have to add it in.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
