I just finished reading the 4th book, and this collection is by far the best series I have ever read! The books are about a young girl who meets a vampire and falls in love, and they have of course made it into a movie which will be released in late November. I am OBSESSED! They are sooooo good! I am actually sad now that I have finished them all. Anyone else reading them?

I have read them. I initialy read them b/c I heard all the hype. A little backstory...I was raised mormon and the author is also mormon. So alot of my friends who have kids are all mormon still. So there was alot of hype about the books from them. I don't like to judge a book by its cover, so I bought them and read them. I wrote a review which you can read in my blog linked in my siggy. But they are fluff to me. I enjoyed them but I would not let my children read them.

Alot of the friends I mentioned think the books are great b/c of the authors religion. Just because someone practices good morals doesn't mean she'll put them in her book. The first book was great keeping sex out of it but by the fourth book she couldn't. I don't mind sex in books at all. But parents who are LDS (mormon) who let their kids read the book just because the author is LDS is not a bright idea without reading it first. I think the got talked in to adding that to add something to her books. I don't think she's an amazing writer per say but the books are entertaining while you read them. I'm not obsessed but I'd read the next one. I don't know about the movie yet. Sometimes they butcher it.

One last thing the name she named her child in the last book. Um that is the wierdest name ever!!!!!

Well I read them and absolutely LOVED THEM!!!

I'm a total romantic at heart and this series brought all that out for me.

I have no problem with her putting sex in the fourth book.. they are married so it seems like a natural progression to me.

I really liked her writing style.. they were easy to read but kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen!

I also hope they don't butcher the movie.. Robert Pattinson who's playing Edward has HUGE shoes to fill.. although in some of the trailers he looks totally hot :)

I got all four for my birthday just over a month ago, and in less than a week I had them all read...OHMIGOD...I just so totaly LOVED these books. Obsessed does not even begin to describe how I feel, it's like they have taken over... my husband will attest to that! He too was slightly jealous at first, but he's come to accept that it's not just me that has this problem. I got his mom hooked on the series, and on a plane ride to Orlando a month ago (but after I had already read the four) I sat next to someone reading Eclipse (book 3). I had brought along New Moon to re-read, and the two of us started gushing about the series.

Seriously though, I am blown away by how these books have affected me. I love to read, and in all the books I have read, none of them have made me feel the same way...it's really hard to get used to!

I actually read them after Rachelle recommended them in another thread. I LOVED them. I'm not a big "fluff" reader and while I didn't think her style of writing was poetic or stylish, I did like the storyline. It really pulls you in hook, line and sinker. If you are looking for something to read and not put down, I think this is a great book/series.

I loaned them to 4 of my friends and ALL have raved about how they couldn't put them down. So don't read them if you don't want to be distracted.

As for the sex in the book, I didn't think it was bad. You definitely get more sex on our prime time TV shows which many young adults view (this series is young adult.) This is obviously a personal opinion and many will have different opinions- which is great. Just for me, I didn't think the sex was too much exposure.

Funny thing- there are a lot of older adults who like the series as well. I talked to one of my mom's friends who told me she just returned from a trip to Forks, Wa (which is the setting of the book). I was like "Really? I just read a book that was set in that town." Then she went off about how Twilight inspired the trip. haha- kinda funny.

I agree! I read A LOT too! I was an English major for goodness sake! At first, I thought I was kinda stupid for reading young adult but then I realized that I was not alone.

Hmmm...This has me intrigued...I LOVE to read, but I am not a big "fantasy" person (I haven't ever read any of the Harry Potter books...) I usually read crime, mystery and Nicholas Sparks as I do like a good love story....

I wonder if these books are available in Canada? I have never heard of them before...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
