BM planning on proposing during our wedding trip

I think its sweet but clearly I'm in the minority lol I think as long as he doesn't do it during any major event that you guys are having (i.e rehearsal dinner, wedding reception) then it won't be stealing your thunder. I'm sure once your group finds out about him proposing, they will congratulate them but after that, the attention will be back on you and your FI.

I agree that as long as he doesn't do it during a wedding event it's OK.

The fact taht he talked to joe & planned on doing it the day after shows he is being considerate.

also, since you have mentioned you don't like "a lot of thunder" that helps too.

i also don't like a ton of attention so it would not have bothered me, if the person was polite about it (talking to use first & making sure it was fine).

people only get a limited number of vacations per year. if mexico is their big vacation then i understand him wanting to propose then. it might be a while until they could go somewhere else. not that you need a vacation to propose, but guys tend to like to combine those things.

Okay.. to be honest it would probably bug the hell out of me.

However, everyone dreams of being able to propose somewhere beautiful and unusual and although it may be your wedding, a lot of people cannot afford to make it a regular thing. That being said, it would be a great place for him to propose as long as it's after the wedding and preferably closer to the end of the trip. But that's just my two cents.

I have the concern that my cousin's boyfriend of 8 months is going to pull this BS at our wedding. So believe me, I can understand not wanting anyone to steal your thunder. :)

aye aye aye. Why do people have to do things like this? It would bother me but I would never tell anyone except maybe FI and you ladies.

Bottom line is you deserve your time and she deserves hers.

In the end like someone else said- everyone is still there for you. (but it would in fact irk me)

I agree it's kinda tacky and in poor taste but I also agree that not everyone gets a ton of opportunities to travel to Mexico so it is their holiday too. So I'd say as long as he doesn't steal your thunder and do it at a wedding event then it's ok. As everyone else has said, it's you and your FI's week and it will still be all about you!! :)

Tara,

Why don't you plant a seed with Joe's friend (or Joe to relay), that you are both really excited for them and that it could be cool if they were engaged before they went to the wedding, then they'd have some time to themselves during their trip to celebrate together.....

Drop some fun ideas on how he could give her the ring...

1. buy her a bikini or a cute lingerie item and tie it to one of the strings or ribbons?

2. give her one of those waterproof ocean containers as an item to take on the trip.... where the ring is inside....

something like that... I don't like the idea at the end of the trip... or the beginning...

This girl has waited a long time for this ring (probably) and deserves her own story...

but I understand why he wants to celebrate his love on the trip....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
