Did you meet your fiance online?

Recommended Posts

Yes! We met on match.com. He was actually one of those "matches" they send you every week. He caught my eye and I winked at him two days before my subscription ran out. I renewed my subscription so we could email. And now we're getting married next year!

FI found me on mIRC lol We were in a music room, and he saw "NewfieGal" pop up because I had just logged in and though "Newfie? There are no Newfoundlanders in here!" So he did a WhoIs? and found out that I was in St. John's and decided to message me. I was dating someone at the time, so I was going to set him up with one of my friends lol But then about a week later the guy I was dating started acting like a complete a$$ and kept it up for two weeks so I dumped him and snatched up FI before my friend had the chance lol

POF seems to be the popular one here ladies. I was on that site but never had any luck with it!

I met my man via online but he would never admit that to anyone..*lol*. To this day he told everyone we met at a bar. It was some fluky site called findsomeone.ca where we intially found each other. He used one of those cheesy lines which actually worked (i must have been drunk..*lol*). Here is how it went "I think u have a gorgeous smile and i would love to conversate with u and get to know u"

We talked for a few months on and off on msn and kept throwing around the idea to meet but I never thought it would happen.

One night I said I was going to the casino for something to do so he decided he would meet there (I am an avid gambler at times). It was history from there. That was four years ago :) Strange how things happen.

  • 2 weeks later...

We did - match.com in 2004! I have no problems in telling people how we met - I think it is a fantastic alternative for those of us who eitheri don't want to date someone they work with or do not go out much. I had just moved to a new city (San Antonio) and didn't know anyone...and so I tried match.com - and it worked :)

We met through Hi5 (kind of like Facebook) in 2004. We weren't looking for relationships because he lived on the West Coast and I lived on the other end of the county. We spent 7 months chatting until my family invited him out as a Christmas surprise. It worked out really well and we clicked. We continued our long distance relationship for 8 months before I moved in with him over on the West Coast...and here we are getting married in 2 months.

PS: Tracy you're getting married in 10 days! Wow that's soon. Have fun and best wishes!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
