We met in person 1 week later (after countless hours chatting online) and haven't been apart a day since!!!! We are a perfect match!

LOL! Too funny. Craig did the same thing. So we chatted it up on MSN for a couple weeks before our first date.. Hahaha both of us were too cheap to pay the subscription.

My Sweetie and I met on blackplanet.com. I went to a friend Corey's wedding and I was teasing him about marrying a girl he met on the internet. He is the biggest joker/comedian I have ever known but when we were talking, he looked at me very seriously and said "It was the best thing he had ever done!" About a week after my friend's wedding, I moved to a new State for school and didn't know a single person. I couldn't shake my conversation with Corey. He's never serious about anything!! I decided to log on and see if there were any decent people at least close to where I was living at the time.

Neither one of us remembers who started the conversation, but I met my sweetie on the site!! And the irony...his name is Corey too!!! We talked nonstop on the computer for about a month. He does IT and I was in school at the time so we were both on the computer pretty regularly. After about two months, I knew that I had met my husband, I just hadn't physically met him yet!! We finally agreed to meet in downtown Philly at the clothes pin. That was four years ago!!!!

My fiance and I met on match.com. I NEVER thought I'd do anything like that, and went into it with a 'at least its an evening out' mentality. We chatted back and forth through emails for over 2 months, then moved onto the phone, and then finally, gulp, in person!

He was sooooooo sweet. Brought me 5 little roma tomatoes that he had grown in his garden - come to find out they were the ONLY 5 tomatoes that produced that year! We cut them up and had them on the pizza we had gone and gotten for dinner. We've been inseperable ever since. 3 1/2 years later he proposed...I finally know what its like to say, and mean, that it feels like we've known each other forever!!! Such an amazing feeling!

I do admit that I was very nervous to tell anyone HOW we met though, I'm not sure why, but at the time I didn't know too many others going that route, or those that did weren't having the best of luck and I really didn't want their opinions at that time. The more people I've told now though the more that think it's great! I guess I'm just a freak like that! hahahahahaha

We met on Plentyoffish.com... It is a free site, i was on for a couple of weeks after my roommate (a guy) met a really cool girl... they didn't end up together but did become friends! Bill was on for 3 days, did not have any pics... not sure why I talked to him but he seemed genuine. Most of our fam/friends don't know. We told them that we met in a coffee shop... which we did, sortof.

I GRILLED him over email (about kids, responsibilities, family, work, drinking, etc.) He passed the test. Then came the phone call... more like dead air. But, at the end of the call he had enough guts to ask me out. We've been together almost 3 years... very, very happy!

That's the funny thing too! Some of my family & friends know the true story of how we met while some don't. There was and still is some concern about telling people the truth because of what they will say. But at the ceremony, it will all come out!!!!!!

We did too! Terry and I met on match.com also. I had been doing online dating on a few sites for some time on and off and was pretty much over it.

We had a few emails and lost touch mainly becuase I was overwhelmed with work. I was pretty much done dating when his profile got "flagged" (which meant he would be deleted forever) from my inbox. I sent him a quick note (cause I remembered his emails being so funny and sweet) and didn't hear back for a while. For some reason we ahd never exchanged our real email addresses. He later told me that his subscription had been cancelled but he re-signed up just to email me back and give me his real email address.. (sigh)...

About 2 weeks later I got an email from him and we exchanged emails and ph #'s. When we finally met on a monday night I was not in the mood but my friend told me to just throw on jeans and a shirt and go! I had him meet me at a bar 2 blocks away from where I live and fell in love as soon as I saw him in person.

I called my best friend the next day and told her that if I married this guy she would have to remind me that I knew the first night I met him. :)

We realized that his brother lives across the street from me and at the time I was working across the street from him in manhattan. Coincidence?!

Moral of the story- take a risk- even if it means just throwing on a pair of jeans... you never know.

I LOVE all these stories! Even though meeting people online is very common and I was actually at a wedding last weekend of someone who met her husband on eHarmony, for some reason, I still get a little embarrassed about it. But, it's our story, and if the happiness that I feel now is the end result, who cares how we met!

Darin and I met on eHarmony. We were a GREAT match right from the get go. We had emailed long emails back and forth and he called after a couple weeks of that. Then we had LONG conversations and met a couple weeks after that! Two and a half years later, we're engaged and a little over 6 months away from getting married!! cheer2.gif I have never met someone who is able to challenge me the way he does and STILL bring out the best in me. He is absolutely the person I have been looking for.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
