we met on yahoo, in a chat room, started just as friends, chatted for about 3 months then met for the first time, we had talked on the phone a few times before. We were meeting as friends at first, he knew all about my bad dates and I knew all about his bad divorce and we going to be friends but then we met a few times and he liked what he saw I guess.

Karen and I met on Yahoo personals and could not be happier! At first telling people how we met seemed a little strange, but it was never an issue between the two of us.

I think it is becoming a lot more common and accepted these days. Sure, there are creeps on the internet, but they are out there in the real world too.

I met mine on Date.ca (its a Canadian thing). A bunch of girls I work with were bugging me to get back on the dating scene and most of them had had really good luck with online dating - 2 of them were engaged at the time. We hit it off (both of us have the same demented sense of humour) and turns out we had mutual friends/aquaintences, talk about 6 degrees of separation. The rest is history!

We didn't actually meet online, we were introduced through mutual friends, however 3 days later my FI then left for 6 weeks for a work trip...so since I was interested in him (and it was clearly mutual) we kept in touch by chatting online getting to know each other and then went on a first date when he came back. I even remember chatting on msn when he was on the flight home from Saudi Arabia through Germany which apparently had internet access!

So it's not as exciting as meeting online but I guess the theory is the same that you can really get to know someone via an online chat situation. We were able to address some important questions about likes and dislikes and whatnot before we had an official first date which made things a lot more comfortable!

i was one of the people who eharmony couldn't help LOL. i spent all that time signing up and filling out their personality profile quiz, answering as truthfully as possible, and got a "we're sorry" from them (you may have heard of this from the chemistry.com commercials). i forget the exact wording but something about it working by fitting you into a certain category and that i didn't fit into any of them ... i wasn't sure whether to be mad or proud?

apparently their matching system can't work for 1/5 of the people who try to sign up? i wondered why they didn't just put all those people together LOL, but i'm glad they didn't because i probably never would have ended up meeting tom. all things happen for a reason!

My DH and I met from Cupid.com (another Canadian thing). We both had the "free" profiles - which you could browse profiles but not really contact people without paying for a subscription...but we were both sneaky and put our email addresses in amongst our descriptions of ourselves. I contacted him by email, he replied and added me to his MSN Messenger and we chatted for 6 hours straight that same night! We met in person 1 week later (after countless hours chatting online) and haven't been apart a day since!!!! We are a perfect match!

My FI and I met online on (of all places) Hot or Not! Haha...I still find it funny. Anyway, he lived 3000 miles from me but we became great friends and e-pals...I used to race home from work just to see what humorous email he send that day. The time came when he told me that he was coming home for Christmas to see his parents and asked if we could meet...I was a little skeptical at first but agreed to meet for coffee. We were inseparable for the next 2 weeks. We were in a long distance relationship for about a year and then he told me that he couldn't live without me everyday so he moved back home. 4 years later and a proposal and here we are!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
