Did you meet your fiance online?

Recommended Posts

Well, I cant say a thing about meeting fiance, but when I was young and foolish there were strange cases when I  stroke up an aquaintance with a girl just on the street and after a few dates we found that we had met online a couple of years ago and she hadnt decided to meet then, I dont know why.

And there were cases when I met a girl online and after a few real dates, while passing by certain landmark it downed on us that we had already met there a year ago and she had refused to talk to me and had sent me to...

I did not meet my fiancé online…but nowadays, I see how people could. My best friend starting using a dating app, and seeing how helpful it was I was like wow! If I was still in the dating world I would probably be going online to do it. You can really meet a lot more people. And for the record, my dad and step-mom met online, and they have been married almost 10 years now.

I met my husband on Plenty of Fish...lol, has a pretty bad rep, but somehow I found a good fish! There was a lot of bad fish to weed through...then when we started talking, we ended up taking it quite slow, emailing back and forth, then eventually texting, and finally phone calls...after about two months we made a date....and I cancelled. But then we made another date, and literally haven't left each other's side since!

@@candle23 I met my FI on Plenty of Fish too! And we joke about the bad rep it has....though he had better experience meeting nice girls versus me meeting nice guys.

We would message back and forth through POF, then we moved on to texting and then a phone call where he asked me out to lunch. From the time we started chatting until the time we met was probably 2+ weeks. We had an instant connection when we met...so cliche but true. I can see him approaching the restaurant so clearly in my head, and my first thought was 'wow, i get to have lunch with THAT!' (because i found him instantly attractive.) when we didn't want lunch to end, we went for dessert and when we didn't want that to end, we just spent hours talking. at the end of the day he said 'i know this is crazy but how do you feel about being exclusive?' i figured i had nothing to lose so i said okay. about 10 months later we got engaged. now it's been almost a year and a half that we're together and i am loving every minute of it. we are getting married in july.

My Fiancé and I met on Match as well. We talked for several weeks first before meeting, first through email then texting. He thought I wasn't going to show for our first meeting but have been together ever since!

Yes. We met on Plenty of Fish. We chatted through the site then that led to a few weeks of texting, then a phone call and then a date. We hit it off on our first date! It was supposed to only be lunch but we ended up ditching our family plans and spent the entire afternoon together. At the end of the date, he asked me how I felt about being exclusive. I figured he was sweet and I had nothing to lose so said sure. We were nearly inseparable after that. We moved in together 2 months later and 10 months into our relationship got engaged. We will have been together for about 2 years when we get married next month.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
