No, not yet. FI has been at work all day and Annabell (who were dealing with) doesnt speak English. I dont wanna embarass myself by attempting talking to her with my horrible Spanish. FI will call in the morning. I feel better knowing that you guys are all taken care of so I must be too right?

Amesharpe,

Where it says "These drinks are also included to Club Premium guests and guests of Barcelo Palace." Doesnt that mean if we are guests at Barcelo Palace we would get them? Maybe Im reading it wrong tho?

I asked that same thing to my TA and she said:
"Even if the resort did NOT have enough rooms open, what they normally do is give wedding groups priority...so that means that in order to accommodate your group, they would bump other guests to other resorts. For example, if a couple is staying at Paradisus they would bump them to Secrets and make them an offer they could not refuse.....and that is how they would get other rooms to open up if they need them. Or they would move families to Dreams Cancun and again, sweeten the deal so they could not refuse! This happens all the time even in normal circumstances! It has happened to me twice and it always works out for the better!"

so that explains how these other resorts are able to accomodate, I guess...

wonderful news for you guys. And there is quite the crowd that will be at the Barcelo at the same time.

Maybe we should start a new bride list to keep track of those that have been moved:

RabbitNow - Oct 7 - Dreams Cancun

Piggy - Oct 9 - Barcelo Maya Palace

Trisha0612 - Oct 10 - Paradisus Riviera Cancun

B&J2008 - Oct 11 - Paradisus Riviera Cancun

cendcar - Oct 27 - Paradisus Riviera Cancun

Nueland - Nov 12 - Barcelo Maya Palace

Dreamstbride - Nov 13 - Barcelo Maya Palace

Meggzilla - Nov 14 - Barcelo Maya Palace

I'm so happy for all your girls, and really, I know I so shouldn't complain seeing as I got my wedding at Dreams tulum but it makes me so sad to hear you guys getting moved after all the hard work I put into the Dreams Tulum thread. There were very few weddings and reviews between mine and now, and I was so looking forward to the large number of weddings in October and November. It's kinda a funny coincidence that we have the best thread on this forum, and then the info ends up not even being used because of this! Oh well, we'll have another Dreams Tulum bride soon, I just know it. There is no way this is permanent, it's just a matter of time.

Okay, end of whining, don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for the brides to be!

I doubt the resorts are at capacity in November. It is still officially hurricane season (the last month of the season). I don't know about you Americans, but in Canada hardly anybody travels south in November. I have noticed it seems to be a very busy month for weddings (perhaps because the price is better than the winter season). But I don't think it's busy beyond the weddings. I don't know, maybe other people can chime in as to whether they have heard that it is a busy month for regular vacationers. In Canada, the busy time is like mid December to end of March, with the busiest weeks being the last 2 weeks of december (Christmas break), mid/end of February (spring break for universities, different weeks in different provinces) and the whole month of march (spring break for elementary/highschook, different weeks in different provinces).

Also, Trish mentioned in her review of the Paradisus that it was totally empty (although that was mid October, which is closer to the prime time of hurricane season), like 30% capacity.

Hi There Ladies,

Just wanted to reassure those of you that have been moved to the Barcelo Mayan Palace not to worry. It's a beautiful resort and your wedding will be beautiful. I was originally to be married at Dreams Tulum on October 9th but found out two days before we were to leave that we would be relocated. It was such a mess and very distressing but in the end it all worked out for the best. All of us were very pleased with Barcelo and Lizette was super. Also the spa did a fantastic job with my hair and makeup and the resort photographers were super nice. If we go back to the Riveria Maya area we will surely stay at the Barcelo.

Hi Piggy, I was wondering what happened to you because we hadn't heard from you. Thanks so much for helping calm the ladies moving to Barcelo. Maybe you can post a more detailed review and also some pics to help these girls out further?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
