We are being redirected to Dreams Cancun now!!! What a let down!!! It's not as nice and remote as we wanted - And I don't even want to go into all the details of the fact that there most likely are other weddings booked already!!!! Now it's really last minute planning by the seat of our pants!!

So, so sorry. I wish you calm and peace so that you make the best decisions once you arrive. Your guests will understand. I am sure they are going to be more worried about YOU then the fact they will be going to a new resort. I know its hard, but try to take a deep breath and go from there.

Wishing you peace of mind. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest DT brides,

I am so sad and upset for all of you. You have spent so much time planning the perfect wedding, and it's so awful to think all that effort might go to waste.

For all those of you who aren't leaving in the next week, I would say just hang tight. I know you are stressing like crazy, the only thing I say to try to make you feel better is just be greatful that you aren't one of the ones leaving/getting married in the next few days. There is good chance everything will be back to normal in a week or two, so there is no point stressing until you know for sure that your wedding will be affected.

To Trish, Brooke and Anna,

Wow, what a nightmare. It sounds like you will all be moved to another resort. While I know this must be SO upseting (you picked Dreams Tulum for a reason!) just try to look on the bright side, at least your wedding will still be going forward. I don't know the secrets resort but I know Dreams Cancun is a beatiful resort - even though you may be thinking of all the disadvantages, there are advantages too (i.e. shorter trip from airport, being close to all the awesome activities in Cancun, etc). Really, as awful as this is, it could be so much worse. At least you are still getting married, under the sun and next to the ocean, with your husband at your side and your family/friends there to support you. While all the details may not be right, come your wedding day that doesn't matter. What does matter is that enjoy yourself, and you will only be able to do that if you let go of all the details. There is nothing you can do at this point, so just try to have a positive attitude and hope for the best. Bring all your stuff with you and they can likely do all the decor or other special arrangements you had planned, but if they can't it won't ruin your day. Just remember that this is suppose to be a fun and wonderful time in your life and if you let this news spoil it for you (by getting upset and stressed) you will never get this time back. So just try to approach it with an adventurous attitude, because you will definitely have quite the story to tell about your wedding.

As for the photographer thing (that trish and brooke are sharing Jean-Marcus) don't worry, even on the off chance you do end up at different resorts he could travel from one resort to another, you don't absolutely need to be at the same resorts (although chances are they will do that for you).

We had trips planned for excursion, fishing trips and bond fire planned - now I have found out that Cancun does not allow bondfires on the beach so we have to think of another rehersal party for everyone and figurea out how to do other excursions and fishing trips - all in the next DAY!!!!wtf.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
