Dreams Tulum Closure (consolidated thread)

Recommended Posts

I've tried to stay optimistic throughout all of this, but now you girls are scaring me. Maybe it's easier for me to say that seeing as how my wedding isn't until May.

However, Amesharpe, I was thinking that maybe they responded to you about your wedding because you've really been in their asses lately about responding to you with what's going on. I think they believe that you could potentially be a "bridezilla" with a vengeance if they don't make you happy.

So maybe they are being proactive?

Blkatz,

Your wedding is 3 days before mine, and I was kind of following your lead with sticking everything out. Are you thinking of switching too?

I think it is a little more expensive to go to DPA than DT so that concerns me. My guests are already paying enough as it is.

I have to admit that I am super nervous. I want to wait and see what happens but as time passes and they are not open I am getting more and more concerned. My invitations are being done right now and I am having them hold off printing...my other concerns are 1-we booked our rooms already and so have a few of our guests and 2-Lizette/Landy never required me to put a deposit down and now I am nervous with everything going on that they wont care about my date since I have no deposit.
I really have no right to stress since my date is so far away but it is still a bit annoying to say the least...
Ashjanbro what are you thinking?
-Beth

I was thinking the exact same thing!

yeah maybe they just want to "shut me up" because they think I'm going to start a riot with the girls on this thread. Maybe they figure if they get me settled somewhere I'll stop posting my rants and pointing fingers pokestick.gif

But really, am I that out of line?

I'm paying a boat load of $$$$ and bringing a ton of business to their resort. I should get what I want, not to mention I am THE BRIDE!!!(honestly, i feel like just being able to say that gives me the right to be a priss)

I think there is over 100K invested in this resort for my wedding. If I were building a house and they told me at the last minute that I couldn't have the granite I picked out but said I'd have to wait and see what was available when it came time for installation. You better believe I'd pitch a hissy fit.

I just want to make sure I'm not getting steamrolled here. And for that matter if I can do anything for any of the other brides on this site to make sure they aren't getting the short end of the stick either.

So...it looks like I will have to go to the Barcelo and I don't want to.
Amesharpe, as the date nears it will be more difficult to find another resort available with your date. Just something else to consider!
Did you try to have someone from DT call to ask about the date. I heard that they are trying to persuade the Paradisus into doing more then one wedding a day if the other bride is ok with it... I don't know if Perla would be as willing to try and persuade her other bride...

My family and I acutally went to a site visit at DT and they would NOT take any kind of deposit for the wedding so I'm not sure how important that really is. As far as pricing at other resorts from the information I have gathered they are keeping everything the same as what you wanted from DT. Room rates are equal as well as wedding packages. Your guests should not be asked to pay any more out of pocket...

Whooo hoooo... THIS bride to be has a smile on her face today!!!

Alin, although I am upset we won't be sharing our wedding days with each other at DT, I am more than thrilled with the opportunity to join you guys for diving in Cozumel during our honeymoon weeks!! See you in Mexico on the 13th!!! :)

The paradisus is completely open minded, as well as Perla, to have more than one wedding a day there right now considering the circumstances that we are faced with. But they will not do it if the bride on that day says no. So the complete decision is up to the bride on the same day as you to allow you to get married there too on the same day. If the other bride does not want to, there is nothing the hotel can do about it since it is in a contract they signed with the Paradisus brides.

Jody, heck yeah, I want to stop worrying about all this and start enjoying ourselves in Mexico! wooohooo, I leave in 3 days! AAAaaaaaaaggggggg, so much to do, I hope I make it!

    • You can hire a graphic designer on Fiverr to create the wedding cards then just print them yourself. Another option so you can save money is to create the card how you want it on Canva and have them printed at a printing shop.

I only find one store known as Lavenderpaperie.com where the cards are lovely and unique, But I want to know the other option name so that I can choose best wedding card. Please, if you have any suggestion on where to go, let me know. Thanks & Regards,

    • Hi Brides! I have a Wally Bag - 66" available - $90 + shipping (US only) The wally bag typically sells for $120-$180. I used this gown bag once to transport my dress from MN to Mexico for our wedding - IT WAS PERFECT!   I was actually able to pack 4 additional maxi dresses, and my husband's wedding attire, plus a few pairs of shoes and some jewelry. I packed the dress the night before we left, and just moments before we left, I zipped the bag and folded it - ready for travel. It comes up with a nice over-the-shoulder strap, making it really easy to carry through the airports. No issues on Delta with the bag as my carry-on - I chose to put in the overhead bin, but the flight attendant did offer to hang it in the closet for me. Once we got to the resort, about 10 hours after I first folded the bag, I unpacked the bag and my dress was perfect - no wrinkles! My dress was mostly lace and had a bit of a train, but it arrived perfectly!  Honestly, this is the best way to travel with your dress!
