Dreams Tulum Closure (consolidated thread)

Recommended Posts

To Anna, Brooke, and Trish,

God Bless You and keep you. I wish all of his love and goodness on you and your husbands to be. I can't imagine what you must be feeling right now. I think I would have been committed to somebody's hospital at this point. I know it's easier said than done for all of us to say don't worry and don't stress. Try to remember everything wonderful and prescious about your relationship and focus on the fact that you are marrying your soul mate.

I think we all are blessed to have found such an amazing forum and to have established a sisterhood, that joins us by the most beautiful thing on earth. LOVE, and the celebration of our committment to love.

Sunbride you have such an awesome philosophy on life, and you are an excellent resource for us all. You go above and beyond all of the time to help us out. Where would we all be without you.

I feel shameful saying that I'm nervous when my wedding isn't until next year. It is very disconcerting to know that something like this can happen without any warning.

I'm sure all of you will be gorgeous brides and I can't wait for you to come back and post your reviews about how wonderfully amazing everything turned out.

I just spoke to someone again in the US and she read me the note from the Sales Manager of Dreams. It said that the resort was closed due to permits-people who checked in last week are still there and the resort is still running-you can still make reservations. I know that this is no help to those brides getting married this weekend and this week but they said that they get daily updates about it.

gun.gifSo...new day and and this point no use making more fuss now. Me and all my guest are moving over to Dreams Cancun. I have studies all there is to know about the resort and even if it's not what I have dreamed of it's what we will make of it. My FI is being supper dupper cool about the whole thing and I am looking forward to getting there tomorow to scout everything out.

I'm so happy to hear that you are feeling better about everything today. I can't wait for you to get back so we can read your review and see your wonderful pictures. You will always be a Dreams Tulum bride to us!

Yeah, the whole situation is bizzare. AM Resorts says they are open but not accepting new guests. They say they will accept new guests starting Monday once the infractions are dealt with. Noticaribe says they are closed for good. I don't know who to believe... and my wedding is June 27 at Dreams Tulum!!

Anna, it will be gorgeous! Our thoughts are with you.

I just got this from my TA that she got from AM Resorts.

Good evening,

As indicated earlier today, the federal authorities have entered Dreams Tulum questioning the permits and authorizations for the resort. While the authorities are reviewing our permits and while we are seeking a "parole" in order to continue full operation, we are taking the precaution of relocating all arrivals until Monday, October 6th. Guests that were already checked into the resort prior to Friday evening are in Dreams Tulum and services have not been disrupted.

We are still uncertain how long it will take for the authorities to review our permits and/or for us to obtain the parole so this action is necessary in order to ensure guests will have an uninterrupted holiday experience with all the services and facilities they expect. Until we are sure that the guests will have access to the entire resort and facilities, we feel this is the best course of action to insure the guests stay is comfortable.

We will continue to relocate the guests to Dreams Cancun and Secrets Silversands and the resort sales team will be in touch to discuss this further in detail. Please rest assured that we will do everything possible to resolve this situation as expeditiously as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

Kevin Wojciechowski

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
