Dreams Tulum Closure (consolidated thread)

MonoAmor,

 

Do you guys have kids in your group I was told our choices were Dreams Cancun, Secrets SilverSands, & Barcelo Mayan Palace? If not cancun, hopefully one of those work out for you or that they come up with some more options for all us brides having to move...I mean we did choose Tulum for a reason & it just seems that none of the options given are even close or even in the area?

Yah we have two little flowergirls coming, so Secrets is out of the question. Even if they did make exceptions I wouldnt want it because I want a place that is kid friendly for them. They havent mentioned anything about Barcelo, I will bring that up and see if its an option for us.

I am getting so confused!!! My wedding is on November 12th and I called the resort today and the lady said she didn't know when they would find anything out and they had only moved weddings throught the first week in November!!!!! I want a choice in hotels because I don't want to get married in cancun and we have 3 small children........

Dont worry, they havent moved us before you. You are a day before us so Im sure they will take care of you first. I have had to push to get an answer sooner than Nov 1 because Im leaving on Oct 30th to go on vacation and wont be able to contact anyone after that. I think they are trying to give us an answer of which hotel we will move to by next Monday so I will have time to sort it out before I leave. So technically we arent moved, were just talking about it. Try and email them a list of your guests ASAP though so they can start working on it if they have to.

Thanks!!! I just wish they could be more clear on things we were told they would know by today!! I understand they are busy moving everyone else. It is just so upsetting I really had my heart set on Dream Tulum!!! Best of luck to you!!

I am super upset today!!!

 

I called about a million times today! and managed to speak to NO ONE! except the receptionist, and left three messages and no response. I am so so so stressed!!!

 

I dont know if I can deal with this any further!!! I dont know what to do anymore?

 

This is getting beyond frustrating!!!!

 

If Barcelo Mayan Palace is an option... That might be good! Its nice there! HUGE resort, great for kids! its very nice! further down the coast too! which I really like... BEAUTIFUL beach too! But as I said... Its a BIG resort, I wanted something more intimate...

 

So far I really like The Paradisus! and Barcelo Mayan Palace.

 

Leanne!!! what are your top choices as of this point??

At this point I am just hoping for a resort out side of Cancun. I like Barcelo Colonial a little more than Barcelo Mayan Palace. I also got him to ask about Paradisus, Azul Sensatori, and Puerto Aventuras (just to see if it would be open in time). She will give us the options once she sees where we could possibley fit in. I already know Im not going to get that hacienda look that I was hoping for for the pictures, but Ill settle for something clean and quiet and nice. I cant believe how emotional Im getting over this!! One minute Im so upset the next Im just chill and back and forth..Im tiring myself out!

I've asked about the Paradisus and the Azul Sensatori. I know it must be really difficult to relocate hundreds if not thousands of guests. I keep waiting my turn and haven't called the resort yet but I'm getting anxious. I know patience is a virtue but I'm on low ladies and I don't know how much I have left. Plus, I have an 80 year old FMIL who is stressing and making me stress even more.

we have our wedding planned for nov. 14th and haven't heard anything back from dreams. we are supposed to be having a catholic wedding and sent all of our information to the priest they reffered to us in tulum and now i have no idea what type of situation we are in for this.

 

does anyone have any idea on what we can do? there are so many things that we have had to do to be able to have the ceremony we wanted and now i can't even get a reply about what we need to do due to the closing...

 

any advice?
