Are we still hoping for the resort to be reopened tomorrow?? I think the last date I heard was reopening Oct 16th, but moving all weddings until Nov 1st? I still havent heard anything from the resort and Im leaving in a couple days to go away. I have left a messages and emailed, but not a word. Im kinda fed up with this lol. Not to be the party pooper, but this really has sucked the wind out of my sails regarding the whole wedding planning.

MonoAmor-

It doesn't sound like it. Amy posted the press release a couple of days ago and I believe it says they were moving all arrivals through the end of the month.

Does anyone know if he's considered a childhuh.gif??

PLEASE & THANK YOU! :)
Ask the coordinators and even if it's normally 18+ ask if an exception can be made since he's so close to the age and none of the other guests will know the difference.

I could be wrong but I think sometimes adults only resorts means 16+huh.gif I could just be making this up though.

honestly, I dont think they'll turn you away at the door after all of this because you have one 17 year old!!! If I were you, I'd just roll with it. I think it'll work out!!!

dreamstbride, if you have not said anything about the age, just don't even bring it up. I seriously don't think it will be a problem, but that is my opinion.

MonoAmor, I'm with you on the sails... I was flying high getting all my stuff done and now I don't want to do any more planning anymore, it sucks. Still trying to stay calm and happy, but it is difficult.

I received another request from Sandra and Landy today asking for all my guest information so I finally just sent it out. I arrival day is Nov 1, so Jody and I are in the same boat. We both arrive the day after the cut off date to find out where we are going... I just keep telling myself It will all be fine....

This forum is such a life saver! I do not know what I would do without it and without you all and your wonderful information! Thank you!

I am in a different situation than many of you right now because I am getting married July 31, 2009. The problem though is that I am at the point of signing a contract with my TA and I don't know what to do yet. My fiance is doing a wonderful job of telling me, "everything will be fine... just wait" but I am having a hard time doing this. I am worried that the resort might close or maybe it will be under construction... so what to do? I keep considering just giving up the idea after spending so much time finding this PERFECT location and just doing one on the beacah close to home... Help please

Alin & Mako, I didn't realize they reached out to you about your guests... what did it say in the communication? Is it precautionary or it sounded like it was likely? So its starting to creep into November...even Nov 1 arrivals... UGH

SDTooley, if you can delay another week or so I would - just to see how this settles out. But if this lasts much longer than a week or two, I personally would consider moving. But that's me.

Amy706, yeah, I got one of those letters that has been posted here and it had the Excell attachment for me to fill in my guest name, arrival date, departure date, flights, and special requests. I think they sent it to all Nov brides at this point. You still have a little longer so hang in there.

sdtooley, I think there is a possibility of construction tear down and work for the year 2009 if they do not get this worked out. You are still really far out from your wedding so if I was you, I would wait. There are tons of other beautiful hotels, in fact, if I was you, since I love the Dreawms so much, I would consider doing my wedding at the Dreams Maroma Beach. It will be brand new, oponing Dec 1, and it is still in the Riviera Maya so very similar to Tulum.

Good luck!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
