I just realized that I have a dilema and am starting to panic.

I was patiently waiting my turn with the wedding coordinatiors to discuss the details of the planning. I have 4 emails from Sandra (prior to her departure) confirming wedding date and availability and 4 emails with Landy confirming the time of the ceremony over the last 8 months TOTAL!!!

I was trying to be considerate of the other brides and not bother Landy or Lizette until about two months before my wedding. Now were in the middle of this mess with the resort being closed. Landy & Lizette are scrambling trying to stay on top of everything and it sounds like they are even more unavailable than they were prior to this mess.

I need advice here, should I just wing it and wait until I get down there to make all of my decisions or should I try and convey my wishes and desires to these girls? I really don't want to put any more pressure on them than they already under but it's my wedding. There is a lot of money being spent here and I'm torn with what I should do.

I wonder if it's even worth it becasue the resort might or might not be open by the middle of December and if I have made all of these arrangements for DT and we end up being moved it will all be changed again.

Amesharpe, I feel the exact same way that you do. I had been patiently waiting until 1 month before my wedding to really get to the nitty gritty with them, and now I feel that it is pointless. First, I don't think they will be responsive to detail organization for weddings that are not next week, and second, it might be pointless since the details you would choose at one hotel are different from the details you would choose at a different hotel if we get moved.

I was taking it easy for the last 2 weeks but the last 2 days have been unbearable. I am soooo frustrated, I would at least like to know my choices and if I am even getting a choice so I can be more at ease... Sucks... I am not going to worry about the details until I know where I am getting married. But from what ALL the other brides say, we can sit down with Landy once we get down there to review the details and it will all work out. I just hope they are right :)

hey ladies,

i just spoke to trish and she should be back on here soon to post.

she said everything went perfectly and that landy was great. she met with landy a few days before the wedding to finalize all the details.

also, with the relocations: the first options are dreams cancun or silversand. if there is a reason why those resorts will not work (ie. other weddings booked that day, not enough rooms) they will relocate you to resorts outside their chain but of course need to check on availibity of dates at other resorts.

there are a few variables involved in deciding where people are relocated.

Hey girls...we're back from Paradisus. I'm not sure of all of the happenings in the past week or so, but we were moved to Paradisus only b/c we could not be moved to Secrets Silversands b/c we had a child in Brooke's party, and both Brooke and I were moved as unit.

Anyways...let me please tell you this........DO NOT WORRY! I know it's hard not to especially when you've been planning this wedding or when you are trying to plan but honestly, you realize that all those little details are either taken care of completely or don't matter in the large scheme of things.

Believe me, both Travis and I, and I know Brooke & Jason were tripping when we found this out..but the weddings turned out better than I could have ever imagined and Landy and the WC at Paradisus took care of us.

So..I know it's hard to really imagine, but things are going to work out perfectly or even better than you imagined. Don't worry about planning things at a different resort yet b/c you can get things taken care of last minute...and your guests...well....they love the cute little touches you add, but they are just SO happy to 1)be in an absolute gorgeous place enjoying themselves 2)are there to share in your special day.

I am really starting to worry. I sent my guest list to Sandra and Landy last week and was told they will get back to me the latest Monday with the options for my guests. I have yet to receive anything and my phone calls again go unreturned. I have guests arriving less than 2 weeks! Any recommendations for how I should go about thishuh.gif Aside from drowning myself in a wine glass!

Have a glass of wine and relax....your guests will not freak out! I had no info until the Friday before they left (tues/wed)..as i told Tammy earlier...just make sure your guests know...give them a heads up...they won't care, they have nothing to compare it with and are just looking forward to being on vacation....
there is nothing else they have to do except go to a different resort!

Can I say "told you so" :) hehe. I know it's almost impossible to believe, yet almost every single bride comes back saying the same thing! Obviously your case was very different than the normal DT weddings so I'm glad you came back saying the same thing so that you can put the other brides' minds at ease.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
