Hello Mary:

I apologize for the inconvenience regarding this unfortunate situation with Dreams Tulum

This seems to be a political fight between the federal and local authorities and we are just in the middle.

According to our lawyers we should have all the areas reopened in a couple of days so I would not be worried for December.

However let's please wait for this week and I will be able to let you know if there is any major legal problem we foresee.

In the meantime, below please find the notification we sent out yesterday only to the top Tour Operators doing business with this property.

I am really sorry but worst case scenario I will make sure to protect your clients at either any of our Secrets or Dreams resorts in the area (including the brand new Dreams Puerto Aventuras which will reopen as Dreams on December 1st.)

Thanks a lot

Gonzalo

Good Morning ladies!

I hope some of you were able to sleep last night. I got about 3-4 hours in when I was not tossing and turning.

I have just sent an email to Landy and my TA. I threw in a little Spanish for Landy in hopes that she will give me the scoop.

I will also be reading the Spanish newspapers and keeping you all updated on what they are saying in Mexico.

I am waiting for the week to end before saying anything to the guests. From what is being said, Dreams will probably pay the GOV. some $$$ and the resort will open.

My co-workers are too sweet..they are taking me out for drinks after work today!

Hugs and kisses to Trish and Brooke!

I just spoke to someone from Dreams in the United States-she told me that they are not taking reservations right now until Monday. They were in court yesterday and today and should know more tomorrow. They DO expect the resort to re-open in a few days. I know that if you are getting married there now they are directing you to Dreams Cancun...I guess we have to stay tuned and see what happens. The person that I spoke to said that they are confident that everything will be fine.

Trish and Brooke my thoughts are with you guys for your wedding! I really hope everything is ok

Hola,

I just received an email from a future bride that is considering Dreams Tulum for her wedding next year., she is so worried as she read that the hotel is closed down for government inspection.

So, I called my best friend who works there, she has been a wedding coordinator and now she is the sales manager.

I talked to her 5 minutes ago, and she was at the Cancun airport redirecting "dreams guests" to another hotel., but she told me this situation is only momentary.

Dreams Tulum can't afford to be closed for more than a week, so they are doing everything in their power to fix whatever problem there is with the government.

I thought i should post this, as they situation could create some panic in future brides that have already booked their weddings at Dreams Tulum.

So ladies, if your wedding is next week... I'm sorry.. it will likely be moved to another location, but no worries it should be great no matter what, this is low season and there are hundreds of rooms available anywhere.. and you probably will end up in a nicer place...

And, if your wedding is next month or next year... it will all be ok.. relax... this situation will get solved soon.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
