My towels came in today that say TULUM...lol AWESOME!

Brooke, we def. need to be at the same place b/c of JM....let's just keep our fingers crossed and I will hope this bottle of wine doesn't run out anytime soon!

Trish, sooo sorry. Wish I had better words for you. What is happening is unbelievable. I read other, smaller resorts were closed back in July and when I spoke with Sandra about it she just laughed and said Dreams Tulum would "absolutely" not be affected.

Fast forward to today. I talked to three different people at the resort today at everyone seemed clueless and have contradictory information. I think the employees don't know themselves.

One of the employees told me the resort was partially closed and still serving their guests. BUT, they also told me they would not accept any "new" guests until all this is resolved. Basically, they will continue to operate with the guests who are there now. No one is allowed to check-in until they are fully re-opened.

I emailed and called my TA tonight. Waiting on a response from her but I will start looking at other sister resorts. If I have to move, I'll move but I want to make sure the resort has my wedding date available. I'm not about to make my guests re-schedule their trips for another date.

Let's keep each other informed. As soon as I hear something, you ladies will be the first to know.

Girls, I am really praying for you that this works out and if you arent able to be in Tulum, that Dreams Cancun will accomodate you & your guests with no problem. Looks like Tammy is doing a great job with keeping in touch with Dreams, and I will continue to read the spanish newspapers looking for updates.

OMG-I am getting nervous-I know that my wedding isn't until May but this is not good, not good at all. You poor ladies that are getting married in a week-I can only imagine what you are going through. I am sure that it will all work out in the end

Tammy thanks for the updates-keep us posted

Huge thanks to everyone for the information and help. Its really nice to have this source of information and support from all of you!

It sounds like it should be okay within a week or so. But what worries me is something similar happened down there in July. Are they going to stroll through Tulum shutting places down every 2 months or what?! Thanks again, All.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
