So angry with Yesica at Dreams

I'm sorry to hear about the bad experience sad.gif I am working with Yesica as well, but I have found her to be really helpful and nice through this whole process. My wedding isn't for another 5+ months so I'm not really sending her alot of emails either. I do know that for the summer months she is swamped with work, sometimes she has 2 weddings a day every day, so I would assume that those weddings take priority just because they are more immediate. I really hope that you get some answers to your questions though, I know how frustrating it can be to plan your wedding from so far away.

But I also agree with Tammy in asking, why isn't your WC doing the planning and arranging of the vendors, appointments etc... for you? that's what you're paying her for.

Maye finally switched me to Mariana so I don't have to work with Yesica anymore. For those that were asking why Maye wasn't helping out with that stuff, she TOTALLY is helping with everything, but there were some things that I would have rather done through the hotel WC like dinner options, available areas for cocktail hour, welcome dinner, ect. and hotel reservation information because our situation is a bit complicated. But I am now comfortable with Mariana and believe she will answer my questions and concerns in a sufficient time. Thanks for all your support.

Hayley,

I am really sorry to hear about your bad experience with planning. I am glad to hear you are on the right track now. There really is no excuse for missing appointments or not being available to answer questions when a bride has traveled to mexico to plan her wedding. However, as some of the others aluded to, this just doesn't sound on par for Dreams, so hopefully it was just a misunderstanding. Although, some of you complaints are just part of the process of holding a destination wedding...sometimes emails take a few days or you have to send follow up and confirming emails to make sure you get a response.

I am also using Mariana and Maye. They work very well together. I think you will be very happy. Although I did do a site visit last November, I have done all the decision making and planning via email with Mariana. I did not firm up one decision or book my date until a few months after my site visit. SO what I am saying, is that I used my site visit to help me decide on the location....and all the other details can be planned remotely....so I don't think you are in a bad position at all now having had the chance to go down and visit and get to know the hotel. You can make the remainder of your choices between now and then, perfectly do-able. We are not doing our tasting until we arrive for the wedding, so if you did not get another tasting rescheduled, you can always do one when you arrive for the wedding.

I wish you the best of luck! I know you will find all the information you need here and you have a great team to work with!

I'd be pissed too. If I went all the way down there JUST to try to check some things off the list, I wouldn't care how far out the wedding date was. I'd expect her to be cordial and at least seem interested.

I'd listen to the experiences of the other ladies here and I'm glad you're now in other hands. But ya...I'd have been smokin' hot mad too.

Okay,

I would also be mad too! But, I just had my wedding at Dreams and I loved it. Yes, she was slow with emails! But, they are so relaxed down there. Yesica does a wedding a day. Believe when I say that she will handle it. She did a great job at my wedding even when a huge problem arised... If you are looking for a super close relationship with WC- she is not the one (honestly). She gets the job done and moves on to the next wedding.

I did the same thing with the Riu and got the same response. I went there 5 months before my wedding to try to get a lot done and it was basically a waste. She was to interested in my wedding, but like everyone else said maybe it was because Daniela from Riu was just really busy and my wedding was still a while away. I too wanted to do a tasting and didn't get it either.

If you are not getting the results that you want, it's your money, time, and wedding. If you didin't sign a contract, you should switch to different wedding planner at your venue. Yes, your wedding almost a year away. Time is money. It's also very precious. Good Luck!

I'm using Yesica, and I will agree that she's not the fastest w/ responding to emails. But I have noticed that since my wedding is getting pretty close she has gotten back to ma A LOT faster.
Do you mean plan one on a public beach, and skip doing the hotel thinghuh.gif

Hi

I would aske the same as Tammy did... Why didn't the outside WC help you outhuh.gif...

Anyways, I'm not taking sides here, but that's one of the sooooo many reasons why brides choose an outside WC.

The hotel's WC are planning the weddings of, not only two or three, but I've seen WC's make it through a day of 4 weddings, and it does take a huge toll on them, so, for many brides it's easier to talk with an OWC and using he HWC just to make sure things go well int he resort

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
