So angry with Yesica at Dreams

Hello everyone,

 

I am actually in Cabo right now tyring to plan the wedding. So one of the reasons I decided to come here was because out of 25 emails I sent to Yesica (WC) she only responded to 1 (I counted) and of the 5 phone calls I made to her, she did not respond to any. So I figured I would come here and just do everything in 3 days so that I wouldnt have to go through this all year. I had an appt. with her and Maye (my WC) on Monday morning and she was 1 hour late. When she sat down she didnt ask me any questions, and did not give me ANY information. I asked her some questions that I had, but its not my job to think of the detail things, she should ask me right? She seemed really uninterested in our meeting and after 15 minutes I wanted to see the hotel. She told me to go with Maye and she would meet us after. After the tour, she was already with other clients. She didnt even say goodbye.

 

I told her I wanted to do a food tasting so we made an appt. for today at 1:00. I walked all the way there from the Melia in the blistering sun and then when I got there she said the cook is not available to do the tasting. She did not even apologize and more so she did not even attempt to call me at the hotel or get in touch with me to tell me not to come. I could have gone and done a cake tasting or something during that time, but I thought the dinner tasting was more important.

what information are you looking for? honestly between this forum and an outside wedding coordinator you should be able to get most of your questions answered.

 

also with food tastings, did you set up an appointment and a menu? i have never heard of them just forgetting?

 

also, if you have an outside WC why isnt she helping with this? confirming, etc.

I'm so sorry, for your bad experience w/ Yesica. But I agree w/ Tammy, there is so much info on this forum, that you can pretty much plan your wedding all yourself.

 

I'm using Yesica, and I will agree that she's not the fastest w/ responding to emails. But I have noticed that since my wedding is getting pretty close she has gotten back to ma A LOT faster.

I noticed that your wedding is coming up (congrats!!!). I also have Yesica as a WC but since my wedding is still a while away (August 8, 2009) I haven't worked with her on anything, other than picking a date. Can you tell me when you started working with her planning your wedding, picking out vendors, colors, menu, etc? I don't want to bug her cause I know she's busy but I also don't want to put anything off at the last minute. Thanks!!

I contacted her right when we secured our date. Our first emails were about confirming where we wanted our welcome dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I highly advise doing that b/c I think Dreams may have more than 1 wedding a day. After that, I laid off emailing her b/c I was on this forum a lot gathering info and ideas for the girls. Also, Tammy was my TA so she was able to answer a lot of my questions too. I dealt w/ her directly for our room block, rates, etc...

I went on a site visit last year in Nov. and had a great experience w/ Yesica and Maye. I was able to see a few weddings too, which gave me an idea of how things were set up.

I completely agree! Yesica is so busy with weddings everyday that she tends to get back to you late but once your wedding gets closer she is totally on the ball. when I went down there for my wedding, she had everything all ready and just confirmed everything and I was set to relax by the pool and just get ready! It was so nice. There are plenty of Dreams brides on here to help you so just ask away!

I'm sorry that you are upset and I can totally understand why. You have spent alot of time and money to go down there and plan your wedding and it sounds from your post that you feel as though she kind of "dissed" you. I know you are upset but don't let it spoil the fun of your planning. The upside is that I have not read any posts from brides that regretted having their wedding at Dreams---they all seem to be very happy with the outcome of their day. The downside is that, as others have said, it appears that she works on the upcoming weddings first. If I were you, I would iron out the absolute crucial details(such as date & time) and then post here. There are alot of Dreams brides and Tammy! If you can't get an answer here, I am sure someone can point you in the right direction. I am also sure she is not dis-interested in you and your wedding. Were you happy with the tour with Maye? Do you have questions that only Yesica can answer or can Maye help you with some of your questions/requests? I hope everything starts looking up for you! Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I know that she will be more responsive as the wedding gets closer, but the reason I went there is to take care of almost everything so I don't freak out 2 months before. I am a planning freak and if the whole thing is not planned 2 months before I will be a bridezilla! We didn't even discuss the welcome dinner, the only thing we really discussed was the reception dinner where we planned the tasting that she flaked on! Ok, Im pretty sure I am already bridezilla!

I have not delt with Yessica at all, but maybe you can switch to Yarai. Is that allowed?? I have been planning with Yarai over e-mails, and it takes her about a day, tops 2 days to return an e-mail. She is awesome! Whenever I write an e-mail I just write "Attention:Yarai" in the subject. They probably would prefer you didn't WC hop, but if you feel dissatisfied...go for it!
