I heard about this on the news yesterday...it's sooo sad. My sister's roommate is from Edson and her parents live right around the corner from this girl....they said the town in pretty much deserted as people are afraid to go outside.

I really hope they catch whoever did this...

Oh Erica- that's terrible. I know how things like that impact a small community- I live in one.

The town I grew up had a horrible incident somewhat similar a few years ago. A transient raped and murdered one of the two nuns who were walking a bike path. Sooo sad. It totally rocked the community.

This is so true!!! Usually there are people walking their kids during the day, others just out for a stroll. The only time I see anyone is if there is a group and there is usually at least one guy. The other night at about 8:30pm, there are usually still people out around the town, and as my Mom drove through town, she only saw 2 teenage boys walking together, and the rest of town was deserted.

My daughter's dance studio has taken precautions as well, since this. Now parents have to walk their children up, and pick them up upstairs (my daughter is still little, so we were doing this anyways) but Larry had to sign a waiver yesterday saying that he or I would be picking her up from dance.

I totally understand what your community went through. This whole town has been devastated by the news. No one here feels safe until this monster is caught. Everyone is terrified that it is someone from around here and that he may do it again if not caught!

I want to thank everyone for your words, thoughts and prayers. It was a horrific act and then there is the fact it was in daylight right behind houses, and of course it was a young girl!!! This is something that is not acceptable whether it is in a small town or a large city!

OMG!!!! I jsut got a phone call from my Mom and there has been another attack in the Tim Horton's parking lot on another girl. I am not sure how the girl is, or if it is the same guy, but the cops are chasing him up by the new subdivision right by my parents house. This is sooo freaky. I hope the girl is okay and that they catch this sicko. If it is him, that means two attacks in 4 days and both of them during the daylight. If he is getting this crazy and daring, I don't even want to walk out to the van to go anywhere. This is sooooo Scary!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
