Shoe Challenge: Help me Find My Shoes!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I know you are all a resourceful bunch, and like a good challenge. I am trying to find the perfect shoe, and apparently I am a little picky. I also hate not being able to try things on, but alas, I think my best options are online.

Here is what I THINK I am looking for in my ideal shoe:

- low heel; I got my dress tailored to barefoot height and the woman suggested I get no more than a 1" heel

- i am trying to avoid the flip-flop style with the part between the toes, because that part always bugs me after a while. i was hoping for some slide-on shoes, but could be flexible here!

- no ankle straps!

- my dress is ivory w/silver accents (threading & sequins), and an embroidery type detail - see below for picture

- I do want to keep it somewhat simple - but yet I don't want boring, I just keep thinking of the cool shots Leigh could get if I had some fun shoes!

- I definitely like the antique look if i go w/any jewels on the shoe, but ...

- I am also considering incorporating some blue (a subtle aqua) into the shoe if i found the right one - here is a sample of some blue crystals/gems and styles I do like (just make them into a shoe!)

(these might be cute if they were real shoes, and more "antiquey" and a lower heel)

Here are some styles I like, but they're not right in other ways:

These are really cute - but might be too high:

The store provided a sample of my dress, and here is the detailing

Whew, I think I need to go to bed now. Post your ideas please - and I will be forever grateful!

Well Ann I can offer you no advice. EVERY shoe I fell in love with had a high heel, I also had my dress made with no shoes, and they just don't make great cute shoes in low heal. SO I found a pair at David Bridal that "works" Nothing great but most of my pictures will be on the beach so I didn't want to stress too much about the shoe. I'll see if I can find the link to my shoe.

BTW, you can buy a plain shoe and add some blue crystals to dress it up...

Ann, we're in the same boat! I can't find shoes either. I logged on this morning and hoped someone would have found something perfect for you, but alas, the search continues. I'm looking for something similar to what you describe, only with red accents, if any. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you too...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
