hello from San Diego!

Hello all! My fiance Anthony and I got engaged this past June! We haven't set a date yet and think we want a destination wedding with about 50 guests.

Our best guess for a wedding date though is late 2009. We're currently tossing around the idea of holding the wedding in Australia, Southern France, or Cairo (my fiance, as I type, has just informed me of some recent kidnappings in Egypt), but we're still trying to compile the short list.

A friend of mine whose sister found a lot of information here for her destination wedding referred me to this forum, and we hope to find a lot of information here too. We're very excited to learn of your experiences and hope we can offer any advice to those interested in locations within California (not necessarily wedding stuff but we've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and now in San Diego).

Cheers,

Gigi hit.gif

Hi Gigi,

Congratulations et

bienvenue!

Sounds like you have some really great places to choose from. I think any of them would be fantastic! I used to live in Australia, and loved living there. The people are so kind, and it's a really beautiful country! The south of France would also be spectacular as well. I've been to Nice, and that whole area is just gorgeous! France est tres romantique! I've never been to Egypt, but from the pictures I've seen, I'm sure it would be a really nice and unique place for your wedding.

Please let us know which country you choose for your wedding!

Meilleurs voeux,

Tod

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
