Does anyone watch TrueBlood?

also, i've always thought that the girl who plays tara was one of the best actresses on the show, but lately i've been just finding her annoying. the only thing saving her is that franklin is so hilarious. am i alone here?

I think it's cause they had her go from tough girl Tara to crying over Eggs and suicidal Tara. I didn't like that switch and I liked it much better when she told everyone to go fuck themselves all the time.

DITTO! I'm watching it now and I was just coming here to post about her. She was one of my faves before even though she was totally different then the book. But now she just gets on my nerves, she overacts everything.

 

And I jsut saw the texting mother fucker scene and cracked up. And then he made her watch while he did it again. he is pretty funny.

Another thing that gets on my nerves is that Terry Bellefluer is supposed to be a vet from Vietnam, but he's only like 30 years old! I just googled and he was born in 1977. But I know in the books, it was Vietnam, and I swore that's what they said in the show too, but that's impossible.

 

Sometimes I wish I could stop comparing the two b/c I love them both but find it hard when there are major differences!

Carly, I agree. I have a hard time not comparing them because I Love the books so much that I kinda wanna see it all play out, but then I'm torn cause I like a lot of what they've done to make it different. As far as Terry goes, in the show they say he is a vet of the first Gulf War. I think the books are set in the late 80's or early 90's and the show is more current day so to bring him into current day and still keep him in the same age range as everyone else they changed which war he was in.

Ok, good to know that they weren't stupid when filming the series cuz I swore they said Vietnam, but I know that doesn't make sense. So it must've been me just confusing them again. I think last nights episode was the best of the season so far. And Alcide did seem to settle into the role a little bit more, not that it matters when he takes his shirt off.

 

Oh and now that I see Crystal I remember that she seems diff from the books as well. I thought she was little and dark, like Christina Ricci. But this girl looks like she belongs on a farm somewhere, all innocent and not evil looking at all. I'm interested to watch that storyline play out.

I also have to stop comparing between the books and shows. There are times that I don't know if I saw it on the show or read it.

 

I agree Tara is overacting and I don't really like it but I think that if she stayed the same every season we would all get bored with her and want her to change.

I feel we all have an idea of where the show is going but not really. At least by reading the books but it is still so different from the books that I'm not sure if the show is going to hit all the points the books did. For example are we going to get a Sookie and Eric makeout scene that is not dream before bill gets saved? I hope so : ) I am also wondering about Jessica and Tommy "thats a giant 6th grade boy little league and your a smokin hot vampire your the majors ".

jenngene2011, be careful about posting things that are to come (based on the books) ... not everyone here has read them, so they could be spoilers! i agree about that "you're a smokin' hot vampire" quote tho, i thought that was awesome. and seriously, jessica IS smokin' hot, and an eternal virgin too? hell, if i was a dude, i'd hit it!

I've never liked Tara on the show. I've found her the most irritating right from season 1!

Thanks for the Clarification. I had a feeling that they were showing Crystal a little early. Maybe they are going to combine Book 3 & 4??

I forgot they showed her power last season as well & Now I remember that she does get it in the book, so that is early as well. Hmmmm.
As for the Maenad, I think because they actually gave her a bigger storyline in the books, they had to rename her. If you remember, she was more like an animal in the books...Less "normal" like. So if Tara was to trust her, they had to make her more normal I think

As for Debbie Pelt....She was a Major mess in the books, so if she if going to be worse in the show, this should be interesting!!
I really wish book 11 would come out..LOL I am going through withdrawl and the show is only helping a little
