I had my eyes done a year and half ago and LOVE it!  Unfortunately my experience was a little different - at the last minute I found out I didn't qualify for LASIK due to the curve of my eyes and had to have PRK instead.  While the end result is the same, recovery was about 2 months and the first week was awful.  But it is sooooo worth it.

I remember about 10 years ago a friend of mine had this surgery, that would have been when it was first becoming popular. She paid $2500 per eye and could only do one eye at a time! She had to wait a few weeks (?) until the other eye could be done.

I've really want the surgery. Next eye appointment I'll discuss it with the doc.

I had it done 3 1/2 years ago and aside from the first day when it feels like you've been punched in both eyes it has been amazing. Before the surgery I used to sleep with my glasses under my pillow because I couldn't see further than a foot away from my face. As soon as the 5 minute surgery was over I could see perfectly. It was amazing to see things clearly again, even better than with glasses or contacts. Now I don't have to worry about dry eyes from contacts, or foggy glasses. I totally recommend it to everyone. It is much more affordable than glasses or contacts that need to be replaced when you look at the overall cost.

Go see a laser surgeon specialist. Your optometrist may discourage you because they won't be making money off of you anymore.

This is great girls.  My FI has been debating this matter for quite a few years now. It's good to hear that you guys had good experience with the laser eye surgery.  I might get him an appointment as  present (up to him if he wants to go through). If he decides he wants to go ahead, my gift would be paying for him.

just a side note; we have this joke (when having a disagreement): YOU'RE EYES seen what they were taking... LOL .. and he always say - not really, remember, according to you I'm blind :)

I had to wait until 2002 when they finally approved a laser strong enough for my eyes (20/1000 -- yikes).  When I finally had it done, it was SO liberating!!!  No more contacts, no more glasses, no more worries about surfing or swimming with contacts! I had to use eye drops for 6 months after, but it was so worth it.  8 years later, I'm still 20/15.

I had mine done at OHSU at the Casey Eye Institute.  Even if you do not live in the Pacific Northwest, I would recommend that you at least check out their website for information about LASIK and options for people like me, with really bad eye sight and slight astigmatisms.

Love them, love my eyesight.  Best investment EVER.

I had my eyes done about 6 years ago. It was the best decision I've ever made (besides saying 'yes' when my FI purposed). I used to wear my contacts from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed. I now see better then 20/20 and would recommend it to anyone!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
