CARLY!! CONGRATS!!!!

I am so happy for you!

My entire family has gotten lasik and they are loving life. It is so much easier to be active, esp for skiing and windsurfing.

I guess the "paraopt" as she said above is that there are risks to all surgeries, but for well over the majority of people are completely fine and change their lives for the better! I am sure people who have poor eyesight have to weight the risks to decide on lasik but for my active family and friends who have done it, it has been a very freeing experience.

YIPPIE so happy for you!

Thanks, Erika! I'm super excited about it and only know one person that isn't 100% happy, but she's like 55 and is upset she needs reading glasses when that's part of the deal. And really, I don't mind that I'll need reading glasses in the future b/c the point is that I don't need contacts/glasses daily now!

ETA: Hahahaa, D, I hear that! Luckily I'm doing it thru my pre-tax expense account, so it's coming right out of my paycheck each month and (hopefully) I'll barely miss the money!

This totally made me lol. I know people still joke about Canadians living in Igloos, etc. but our doctors are just fine thank you very much. In fact, Canadian doctors and nurses are recruited to the US all the time.

I am 4 years post surgery and everything is perfect. I'll take reading glasses in 10 years over my legally blind status before the surgery anyday.

Canadians don't live in igloos?! Where the hell have I been? You all still get around via sled dogs though right? wink.gif

So glad everything went well Carly. I know you debated forever and I'm absolutely thrilled you are so happy! I'm pretty amazed what modern technology can do! Sooo woooohoooo to being able to see!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
