In-suite reception

Hello,

 

I'm researching what will be more affordable, an in-suite reception or a restaurant reception. We will only have around 20 guest. If anybody has any pricing info for in-suite receptions at the strip hotels or pictures, please let me know.

 

Does anybody know if the strip hotels run specials for winter on ceremony packages?

I think it all depends on what kind of food you want to serve and how much the suite costs. There are so many restaurant options with varied pricing. You can spend as much or as little as you want. And there are also many different companies who can help with food for an insuite reception. I think your best bet is to set a budget and go from there.

Wow! That is such a good idea. I never thought about in in-suite reception. I came across this thread because my plans to get married in Cabo may not be possible. So, I thought Vegas Baby elefant.gif I actually thought it would be less expensive and easier for my guest to get to (there are always specials to Vegas. So at this point I guess I'm keeping my option open.

I wonder if the insuite thing would be more expensive than a hotel rest. because think of how expensive room service is....just a thought. So many of the hotels have amazing suites though.

Another thing to think about is, would the suite be your "honeymoon/wedding night suite" you would have to have a plan to kick everyone out or you would have to pay for two rooms, so you can leave the reception.

We are planning in suite and the food is done by catering rather than just "room service" So we pay the same for in suite food as we would if we were renting a ballroom for a traditional reception.

 

There is the issue of kicking people out but we kinda plan on once the older guests go back to their rooms heading to a nightclub or something with the young crowd. That and the suite is 2 story so guests won't really have access to the sleeping area anyways

We are considering the Stardust Suite at the Orleans and the woman in catering straight up told me I didn't have to use them for catering, that I could bring in someone else. You pretty much can at all the hotels as long as you're discreet about it. They pretend to be all strict about it so that you will order from them, but it's your room. If you want to order Domino's you can, so if you want to order from Jason's Deli or bring in party trays from Sam's Club, you can do that too.

We have a Terrace suite booked at MGM Grand. It looks a little dated decor wise but having the patio w/ the view of the strip will make up for it. Plus most of the local venues we looked at around NH were just as dated.

 

I haven't really put too much energy into food yet, I'll think about that once I start getting feedback from my save the date mail outs. Food choices will depend on who is coming
