Dreams P.A. v. Palladium Colonial??

Recommended Posts

I am new to this forum!!

I am looking to have my DW in May/June 2009 and I think we have narrowed it down to the Dreams PA or Palladium Colonial...we have stayed at the Palladium, like it there, but I don't really want to go back to the same one..there is just so much to take into account when deciding ie the price, kids rates, nightly enterainment shows for the elders, what extras do the resorts charge for the wedding dinners etc etc

I am from Vancouver, Canada and have been quoted with package rates of $1600 incl taxes for Dreams and about $1800 for Palladium, which is quite expensive!

Is there anything info you can tell me that helped your decision to go with either the DPA or Palladium Colonial?? I know it'll mostly be personal preference but if you can let me know what about the resort that made your ulitmately decision.

Any infomration you can provide me with will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!

Adnil.

I chose Dream P.A for the price, I got good packages for booking while it is going through renovations, but, personal preference came into play as you noted. I saw the pictures of the gazebo on the water at DPA and I fell in love and didn't even want to consider other resorts. My TA loves booking Dreams, she said the reputation is great. I do have some issues with their policies on some things but my TA and I are working on that. Good luck choosing.

Hi there! I originally wanted to book with Dreams as I've stayed at the one in PV before and know what a good reputation they have. We chose the Palladium over Dreams for 2 reasons:

1. Price for our guests. It was about $400 per person cheaper to book at the Palladium when we were getting quotes.

2. We were reluctant to go to a hotel to get married just after it opened (keep in mind we are getting married in Janaury 2009 and that wasn't flexible). I work at a hotel and was part of the opening team. I know what type of glitches they can have and that it take a good 6 months to "work out all the kinks". This shouldn't be as much of an issue for you as your wedding date is further out.

Good luck with your decision.

I was looking between the two resorts as well. The main reason I chose the Palladium was, as Jennifer said, its cheaper for our guests. The wedding package at PA may be a little better than what the GP offers, but overall, I'm happier with the resort. Also, GP is much larger, with more amenities to offer our guests, and for us that was a plus since our wedding is doubling as our honeymoon- more space for us to get away from everyone at. Good luck choosing, and I doubt you can go wrong with either resort!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
