March 2009 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Dallas,

Yes I do have final (in my book) headcount. It took a lot of threats, cussing and other unladylike mannerism, but I did it!! I do have a watchlist of 3 guests that can go either way at the last minutes so I am still including them anyway. I would determine if they are "strong" yeses or no's and if they change their mind, then they are SOL. Folks know I am not a bridezilla but now its personal because no train or plane waits for this show. If some of the 8 are a coupl, do one bag for both of them and the ones that are strong yeses. If anyone else decides to show up give them like a favor or something in a small favor bag. That way you are not azz out if you are spending like $25 and up on your bags. Use the 20% rule!

Go ahead with your plans, as you can see I have less than 2 months now so in my mind, it is what it is for the guests. People should understand if they are iffy, they cannot expect you to bend over backward past a certain point!!!

I don't have a final headcount yet, but I just over-estimated how many I thought would come and ordered enough bags for all. We only expect 20-25 so it didn't cost that much to have a little extra bag inventory. Not to mention I wanted to cross ordering them off my list.

Plus if there are any extra, I figure I can use them as a green alternative when I go grocery shopping :)

Hey:

I take it you are ordering the grocery bags for your bags...are they being personalized? If so, where did you get them from? We're doing beach towels in ours, so I want to keep the actual bag prices down and thought this would be a great option.

Thanks.

Carrie

I think we're the only 2 for march weddings w/the same date! Yeah, this weekend is my 'get on the ball weekend'...I'm just going to get everything ready to order for the OOT bags so on Feb 1st I can order and be done with it. Let me ask you...are you making your bags at home and then shipping them or are you sending everything directly to Mexico to make once you are there?

Wow! Sounds like everyone is really coming along.

We're tacking down the final details now. We have 14 guests booked and I can't imagine we'll end up with anymore. I'm in the final phase of deciding what we want to do for flowers and music. I still have to pick out shoes. More than what I thought I had to do, but nothing so stressful that I cannot make it work.

Good luck to everyone! We're winding down now!

We have 14 booked and a few who are still thinking but I think they may be out of luck if they wait any longer.

I have all my stuff for the oot bags just have to put them together.

I still have to figure out what to do for hair and makeup.

I think I know what songs, but may change my mind on songs.

The colder weather is helping with people booking there trips (the thought of a nice warm beach is better than the cold and snow here). Atleast here it is helping.

Problem is more people are thinking about the cold than I want to! haha! I really wanted to keep it small and it's just not happening! My WC will just have to deal with the larger number than normally expected!

Well my invitations finally went out, a lot later than what I expected. It was just drama trying to get them from the store we purchased them from. We got them like 3 weeks after they were supposed to be ready. Then to top it off, my mother misspells my middle name. How can my mom forget how to spell the name SHE GAVE ME!! It's beyond me, but I doubt that anyone really knows how my middle name is spelled. It bothers me because i know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
