I need to know my guest count so i can know the final bill of the wedding at least 2 months before and i also noted that no bookings will be accepted after March 14. And if anyone has any problems with these requirements than they don't need to come! HA! Is that too mean?
Not too mean at all.... If I had my time back I think I would do something similar. We are doing RSVP via our website. Some of our guests are using it, and then there are others who have not replied, but have booked the trip with our TA. So I would highly recommend staying in touch with your TA to get numbers that match your RSVP count. We are asking for RSVP by November, and getting married January, so I hope that works.

O i for sure will be in touch with my TA and will be telling her that the cut off date for booking is March 14 and anyone who tries to book after that she will kindly have to tell them she can't do it as the hotel had to have final guest list by end of day March 14 (even though they truly don't need it until a month before, but i want to know how many people are going so i know how much my wedding is going to be costing for sure). My wedding my rules. lol

I have spoken to a local travel agent here in my town, and she has given me some prices. but when i look online on expedia ect, they arent showing july 2011 yet.

how are your other plans coming along?
I have my wedding packaged paid for, the location at the resort picked out, and my private dinner as well.
currently i am trying to figure out when i should send the invites out. I am think in Jan or feb, that way they can have their deposits in for april.....

have a great day!
That's funny Ashley - we are getting married on our anniversary as well and it will be lucky number 7 - not sure how lucky that is lol

Hi everyone !1

I am a March 2011 Bride in Mayan Riviera, just don't know which resort to book, it's either good prices for travel and high cost wedding ceremony or high cost travel and free or low cost wedding ceremony, so for those getting married in mexico what made you choose your resort...there is so many I can't make up my mind...

thanks in advance !!

new bride to be here and just started planning ...

I was thinking of doing a Remember or Thank you for booking in Christmas cards this holiday season.
i got engaged june 12th, skipped the save the dates and sent out invitations on July 7th for both the DW and AHR with detail sheets for both and the rsvp had both events and asked for a reply to either or both by September 15th as that is the date the deposit needs to be paid for the DW to guarantee space and pricing. Call me crazy but i didn't want to do STD, Invites for DW with RSVPS then have to do it all over again. i know it's a little early for people to commit to the AHR on July 2nd but i figured either you're coming or your not lol Most people take a vacation every year so those people would just make that theirs and the other who normally don't just have to decide if it's in their budget and if not then attend the AHR. Oh and i am only doing thank you cards once after the AHR. Going to also give those coming to the DW a pre travel brochure and a welcome letter in their room. That's alot of correspondence!!! But i guess people need details right?

  • 3 weeks later...

Our wedding is not until Nov. 2011, but we're sending out our STD tonight, lol!  I know it sounds crazy, but we rather give everyone plenty of time to save $ and make travel arrangements. The STD include our wedding website, which will have info on the resort and TA information. I'm also allowing guests to RSVP on the website, which hopefully will be helpful. However, I'm concerned for my guests that don't have access to the web (for example: our grandparents, etc.). Not sure how to go about providing them with all the info that's on my website.  Any suggestions?

We asked our guests to RSVP online as well...so far it's been hit or miss. Hopefully it will start picking up soon. We had included RSVP cards in our formal invite, which were enclosed in an envelope. We figured if they could not go online they could always mail it back. Our address was on the outside envelope. And perhaps if you specially know a few that would prefer to mail them, just include your address on the envelope and a stamp. Then it makes it easy for them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
