Do I just book the resort now and hope that prices come down then and send to my guests when we lock in a good price? I don't want to lose out on the resort that I want. Right now I'm leaning towards Grand Palladium Bavaro. We are getting married the week of March 12, 2011.
How did everyone pick their resort without knowing what the guests will pay?
i am just in the same boat you are. it was hard for me to get my head around the fact that i will be booking my date with the resort before i even booked with a TA.
what i did was, i sent out save the dates. with a little note attatched that explained that the cost would be between 1300 and 1500. and that a formal invite will follow.
i am actually booking my date with the resort this weekend. then its just a waiting game to book with a ta.

Hi girls, I just wanted to introduce myself. I just booked my 01/22/11 wedding at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in Riviera Maya yesterday ! So excited! Have not seen it yet but my FIL's stayed there a few years back and I feel confident in the Iberostar reputation.

We are doing a Cathlic reception at the resort's on site Catholic chapel and we have not chosen which restaurant to have our reception yet. We are paying extra to have a private reception. Included in the package is just a wedding dinner at one of the ala carte restaurants and it's not private.

If there are any other brides out there that have experience with this venue, I'd love to hear any feedback you have!

Hi ladies,

I'm a February 2011 bride. We've booked our date at the resort, plus the pastor, the photographer, and the DJ. We've also sent out our STD's by e-mail last month, and plan to send out formal invitations when the pricing comes out. I'm actually meeting my friend next week to decide on the invitations.

I thought I was doing pretty good... but I am very impressed by you ladies who have already bought their dresses and BM dresses. Well done! I'm looking forward to those next planning stages =)

I love talking to you gals here, but I'm such a concrete people person and would love to meet up with someone in the process.... am I the only one like this? I feel like everyone would just want to lock themselves away with their future hubby! I say, we already have to spend the first part of the week with family anywayz. Anywho congrats to you all, some of whom I've spoken with already!
Haaaay! I'm a June 18, 2011 bride to be :-) We've decided on marrying in the Dominican Republic so I won't be able to meet up with you (wish I could)...but I'll send you my well wishes across the water!

It's been such a long time since I've been on here.. And I'm not even sure if I belong up here anymore.. We changed our destination wedding from Hawaii and we're now getting married back home. My elders can't fly out there. But we hope to go there for our honeymoon perhaps. However, although we're not getting married in Hawaii, we STILL got our photographer from Hawaii!! Eddy from Renai Photography came to do our engagement photos from Hawaii!! We are so blown away by his photos!! We highly recommend him to any Hawaii bride (or anyone else who want's to fly him in like we did!!) So excited for him to do our wedding photos!! As for the wedding plans, we already booked our venue, got our officiant, photographer, ceremony dress, my wedding band, pretty much found our florist, and videographer, and we already chose our colors.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
